Well... Since Forza Horizon 5... I dont know...
Bought premium to get "all car ever all upcoming DLC" ... and we all know how it turned out.

If I buy it at all it will probably be when it's on sale. Turns out the game is too arcadey for my tastes really (like Forza Horizon Motorsport). Even less of a sim than Granny Turismo apparently.

If you want sim so bad then play one of the 100's of popular sims already on steam. Forza will never be full sim as it needs to appeal to the xbox kids on controller too.

To be fair the sim-cade is a genre which kind of lacks lately as we haven't had a good simcade game on pc since Motorsport 7 unless you like rally. DiRT pushed out 4 and 5 which were pretty good arcady style games with sim physics!

ALSO THE GAME WILL BE ON GAMEPASS DAY 1
So you can try it out for however much that cost on the microsoft store for a month or however long you want to pay the subscription and come back later when it's on sale.
(I think it's still $1 on pc)

Premium but disappointing that it doesn't include any DLC.

only the basic edition is worth it if you look back at forza motorsport 6 and 7 premium editions ;) both featured only a handful of cars, and a kinda worthless welcome pack.

seeing how there will be 500 cars in forza motorsport if you aren't someone who wants to collect them all you can safetly skip those 30 additional cars you'll get from the premium edition. the welcome pack is also bad (its seriously worthless, especially if you want to play the game more than 5-10 hours, then you don't gain anything from it judging by the past forza's welcome packs)

the vip pass which is the only thing that might! be worthwhile (but you can buy it later alone for like 5 bucks if i remember correctly. also when i played through forza motorsport 7 it took me 100 hours to 100% the career mode and i wasn't missing the vip pass at all, i made millions and got hundreds of cars just by playing through the career mode).

overall definitely not worth spending 30 bucks more on the premium edition. its even doubtful IF this game is going to be great anyway, so far it kinda looks soulless and not as good as forza motorsport 6 & 7 and definitely not as good as gran turismo 7 (i really hope for gt7 on pc, maybe first half of 2024.. please sony :D).

if this turns out to be as good as forza 6 & 7 were (7 after they remade the shop etc. at release forza 7 was bad but they actually made it good a year later in my opinion) i will get the basic version and play through it once fully

same here and i had high hopes for this forza motorsport game but in recent months, after seeing real gameplay, the career mode, the soulless menu system (at least forza 7 had a well made menu with great career presentation, here is just simple 2d menues -.-) and the focus on upgrading your cars and leveling up your cars (lol are we in an arcade racing game here or what... -.-) i actually grew disappointed with this forza motorsport. furthermore after watching literally all videos for the current preview that content creators got which features the beginning of the game feature complete it seems there aren't even any rewards for leveling up your driver level like forza 6 & 7 had them (i really loved the spinning wheel, this was so much fun as a reward system ! i also liked the toned down rewards you got in 7 but the selection was limited as i always was 3 you had to choose from).

so far it doesn't look like its gonna be as great as forza 6 & 7 were :( gran turismo 7 on the other hand actually turned out to be a fantastic racing game with a lot of hearth and soul poured into it. really hope sony will release it for pc !!

They aren't going to add $30 worth of content. Look at what they did with Forza Horizion 5..

they added a few DLCs, then started releasing DLC with a "NOT INCLUDED WITH PREMIUM VERSION" disclaimer. they're just scamming people..

buy the standard version and just wait for Forza Motorsport 2 next year since they're just doing a rinse & repeat.

It will automatically opens on october 5th, steam doesn't change the date for early access games in the library.
