When does the game even save progress?

Many reported that they regularly lose carreer progress and it now finally happened to me.
I encountered a hand after starting race 3 of a cup (after installing new parts).
I close the game, boot it back up and it didn't save that i finished race 2.

I could understand it not saving progress if the event isn't properly concluded.
But i already started the next one.
When does this game even save? Is it a fixed time interval?

EDIT:
Interesting enough, i just noticed that it DID save the car points i earned from that race.
I had to run race two with stock tire compound because i was short on points, now i could select sport compound with points to space.

So the game saves something...but not everything.
This is such an embarrassing mess it's not even funny anymore...

I heard you have to return to the main menu, so don't upgrade or buy new cars until you've done that. Or just don't do career until it's fixed.

returning to the main menu does not work, I completed 2 cup races, started the next one, then went back to the main menu, when buying a car everything froze and the completed races disappeared

p.s. everything freezes when synchronizing with the server, and after a restart it loads old saves from the server, it’s not clear when this save happens to the server

Which almost sounds like the game doesn't even write local saves...which would be absolutely insane...

Only way I can find to force it to save is to modify a car setup.

after each race you need to go to the main menu, go to the garage and change the car settings through the garage

It did hang saving a setup yesterday here. Race before was lost. (XBOX) Somehow they turned saving into rocket science.

Why don't they just add a SAVE button so we can save the game progress ourselves and making sure it is saved before we move onto the next step.

I am still stuck on 2nd race done it 8 times, done whole series 3 times never saves. Car level is level 50 and only saved 1 race ever. Given up trying to play game wasted 15hrs trying to get first series to save......

Happend to me today. After engine upgrade the saving ended in infinity loop. I had to repeat class c in career mode and now I have two trophies for class c.

Ok, things got even worse and weirder.
I finished the entire cup now (Super Sedans), won every race in first place...and got a bronce for the entire cup.
Apparently, some of the races that the game "forgot" still went into the overall points, but as forfits and thus, lead to a bronze medal.

Sorry, but this game is an absolute joke...

Had the same issue, ended up getting a green icon as if i had just finished every race, evon though i put the effort in to win each one :/
