Are the negative reviews based on people having performance issues playing on generations old gpu's?

As I already said in another thread, apart from the cafres who intend to play with everything at full capacity with a mediocre PC, another factor to take into account is the hate campaign coming from sectors close to PlayStation. Since it is an Xbox game and they see it, it is a rival to GT7. This point is not trivial and comes to influence general opinion, since many people simply join the trend (even people who would normally value the game positively), seeing that there is a dynamic of certain controversy and negativity in the environment. So, the good things about the game are said with a small mouth, while they exaggerate even the slightest negative nonsense.

And in terms of performance or polish, this game came out better than many others at launch. It is easy to compare now with other games that have dozens of patches and updates behind them, forgetting that on their release date they were much worse than this Forza.

this is not a competitor and close to GT7... this piece of ♥♥♥♥ crap at launch and continues to crap... crashes, FPS drops (on a not weak PC)... small... VERY small online.... so don't tear it up ♥♥♥♥ your ass and don't talk about what a...supposedly....wonderful game it is....it's definitely a failure and a piece of crap that shouldn't live!!!!!!

You are in the hate campaign against the game. Exactly what I describe in my comment. Possibly you are close to PlayStation and see it as a rival to GT7, when GT7 came out in worse conditions and was half done.

I beg to difffer.
It took Turn10 two weeks (1x EA, 1x after launch) to actually get the game running for a surprising amount of players.
The game still has major issues, in parts gamebreaking, across all 3 GPU vendors.

It has nothing to do with any favoritism to say that this game released in a truly sorry state and, even after its first patch, isn't significantly better.
The crux is, that we're not talking about some funny bugs and glitches here an there.
The game simply didn't work for a shocking amount of people.
And it still doesn't. Just today, i personally lost carreer progress because the game simply doesn't save properly.
And that's an issue people encountered during EA as well. It's something that simply wasn't adressed that effectively renders the game unplayable.

And just to be clear, i have no bias against Forza / Microsoft.
Quite the opposite in fact, which is why the state of this game annoys me so much.
I pre-ordered the premium edition, because i put several hundred hours into previous Forza games (Horizon and Motorsport) so there was no doubt that i would get my money's worth...
But the game simply doesn't work.

Not only do I speak for myself, but I have seen dozens of hours of gameplay (without interruptions) from other players and I have not seen the failures be so serious, so frequent and so continuous that that is the only thing that is talked about. In fact, I have seen gameplays of several live content creators and they have not had as many problems as putting their hands on their heads like some here do.

Obviously the game has its flaws, like all games after its release (it even has less than the average game at the time of release), but clearly some negative aspects are being exaggerated so that it is the only thing talked about, and thus try to overshadow its virtues (which it has, and which far outweigh its defects).

Currently, i and several other people, aren't even able to experience those virtues because the game refuses to work.
I can't experience much of its carreer mode because the game keeps crashing or hanging and it doesn't properly save progress.

It's irrelevant if a game is "potentially great" or "great for a select lucky few".
And it's equally irrelevant if other games also launch with issues.
Their failures doesn't make these failures excusable.

I want to play the game i payed for. I can't
And at that point, that's all that matters to me, not how gould it actually could be.
Because as it is, i'm flat out unable to experience that.

Sure, it's easy to gather problems from different players with several hours of gameplay each, and put them all one after the other in a video montage. The difficult thing is that all the problems happen to the same person at the same time and in the same session, as you seem to imply. In fact, during a gameplay of several hours, the normal thing is for a person to play calmly and without major problems, perhaps they will encounter a bug here or there, and as other hours go by, with another, or perhaps it is a minor detail. which does not give the greatest importance. But if the game seems so erratic to you that all that happens to you, to the point that it doesn't even allow you to play it for a few minutes, and permanently, then I have to tell you that you are the one who is part of the minority.

The game was officially launched on October 10, the day on which millions of people were able to access and play it, both on consoles and on PC and gamepass. No one denies that it has bugs, but if the majority of people can play, while you find it impossible to play, then you are in the minority group and not the other way around.

all games full lobby, is it true about "very small online"?
And about GT7 vs FM... Play lots of time in GT7, A rank, so phisycs in GT7 worse then in FM, especially when you drive at grass or curbs, you feel it like on the ice... Detailing at GT - great, 10/10, but it's only one for what i can liked Mr.Kazunori, bugs which not fixed more than 6 months - this is real driving simulator.

All i can do is tell you my experience, point at the myriad of other threads and posts reporting the same on here, the 60% negative review score on Steam, many of which are reporting similar issues.

Forza is Modern Gaming™ exemplified. If it didn't have the great driving developed long ago the game would be completely awful. So while I love the driving enough to ignore a lot of the terrible aspects of the series, it's entirely understandable that others will have their experience ruined by those things.

But gamepass exists so you don't pay for Microsoft games before trying them. I'm not buying this on steam.

No problems on RTX 2080 with max settings. Must say, I enjoy this version ('8") of the game. Didn't like "7", but loved "4".

FUTURE RICHES .. mfs i didnt pay for that i paid for an expeience TODAY

It plays better than any prior Forza and that's a fact, can't even enjoy the masterpiece FM4 anymore (which obviously is ahead in many other aspects) because the handling and physics are so much better in this. And the Horizon series might as well be me pushing Hot Wheels cars on my desk in comparison.
Everything else that is lacking rn will hopefully come with time.

RTX 3060, SSD M2, 16GB mem and 40 FPS on medium graphics settings, with many slowdowns. It´s unbelieveable how bad it runs & looks.

You are trying to run it at 4k with a 3060,it's not powerful enough.Try lowering to 2560x1440 and it'll run much better.That is not a 4k card.
