I understand they want everyone to be on a "fair" level but this isn't ranked, it isn't professional racing... It's Forza.
They want it to draw a competitive crowd. I understand. iRacing will always own that sector but the suits make sure they at least try.
But they are trying to turn it more into a "serious" simcade.
That's why they have the new penaulty system, and the cornering rating system. The devs are trying to teach the Forza players how to drive.
:P
If a players PC is that old and can't handle it why punish the majority of players that can handle it, maybe it's cause the Xbox can't handle it?
The problem wasn't old pcs. The problem is pcs running the game above 60fps.
Locking the framerate will fix the issue for good...until someone hacks it, but you can only do so much.
The dumbest part is... Only like 0,1% of playerbase will notice it and not be affected by fps difference. For other 99,9% of players it's just an annoying thing. I have 165hz monitor and it will be so painful to play at 60 fps.
Considering the majority of racing players are on consoles that run at 60, and that the glitch of the car going faster than it should only happens above it, no, it's not just 0.1% of players.
Get a grip.
I understand what are you talking about. The problem is, majority of racing players are just slow. For 99.9% of players it's mostly a skill issue, not a fps gap. I spent a lot of time in FM7, FH4 and FH5. And i think i can say i'm faster than average player, i'm racing in tournaments, getting high positions in rivals and even organizing tournaments too. And i know some aliens from ESV for example, i faced them in tournaments and they are faster than me, not because i'm on 83 fps and they running 100+, because they are just better. FPS gap exist, yes, but it's not SO big. So yeah, if you are racing on top level, you can spot the fps diff (probably), and only if you can say, you and your opponent took exact same lines and didn't make a single mistake, even small slide. Until that it's just skill issue and copium.
And c'mon, it's just Forza. I'm happy with that they trying to make game more competitive, but tell me if i'm wrong, i don't remember fps lock in ACC.
P.S. I had 60hz monitor too, and after i bought 165hz and went from 60 fps lock to 83, i didn't became faster. It's just more smooth and enjoyable to play.
That's not the issue. The forza multiplayer code clearly has problems syncing systems running the game at different framerates, a problem which they can't fix or would take too much time, and they are trying to show Motorsport 8 as a more serious and competitive game.
So if they have to choose one public to displease, of course it will be pc players with 144p monitors, VR enthusiasts and triple screens enjoyers (because they are the minority of a minority). I can't even blame them, it makes sense for their business.
Motorsport 8 is clearly a game that has 3 or less years of development.
Or... They could fix servers and physics. So i understand why they did it. But there were few another solutions and they picked the dumbest probably. Or at least laziest.
