Do you call any game without drift turning a sim? Forza is pretty casual, mate.
We kind of need a Gran Tourismo for the PC I believe, oh also then in this sense and I believe I have heard something about this is that I also hope or more precisely want :P um the opponents to be good because that was also an issue that in Motorsport kind of was irritating how the AI drivers behaved which coupled with the fact one couldn't make them go faster than "unbeatable'' ties together in with the frustration or just a feeling of that game lacking but I believe Motorsport will be good though. Specifically I am referring to the feeling that the opponents didn't see me or didn't notice me in game on the track and didn't behave towards me like they did with one another and really felt also like they were scripted to just drive on the racing line which you can visually turn on to see it, it is like the "perfect racing line" but then this would cause the opponents then sometimes to like slow down in really illogical places where they in essence could just go through flat out which would cause collisions and unexpected behavior or situations which also was a big pity on the game's part I feel but here's to hoping that all these issues will be fixed with the upcoming release.
One feature I really like about Gran Tourismo is thus that alleged AI (machine) learning aspect of the opponents.
Again, I'm glad that they choose to release it on Steam as well :)
In my opinion Forza Motorsport has the potential to be the best racing game on PC since the time of something like GTR2 which had a lot of moddable content and in this sense I also hope that Motorsport will have like a LOT of content and perhaps some ability or possibility to mod the game which I am not entirely optimistic about but okay...
The game is made for Xbox. So made for people sat 6ft away from a big TV using a controller. Its tuned to be harder as its FM. But not tuned for be 1:1 with a wheel in a hydraulic rig with 3 monitors.
If it was a proper sim it would never be playable on the console its sold on side by side to the PC.
EDIT:
I guarantee any teen in their bedroom can master this game using an Xbox controller. More so than any real world remote control car driver could do. Cus its a game.
This isn't Sega Outrun.
So there is supposedly a genre between Outrun(Arcade) and ACC(Sim) called Simcade.
Typically, Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo are referred to as Simcade.
For me, I much prefer track racing to open world.
Mostly, I want the track cameras for the replays.
In my opinion, the replays are trash without them.
Another reason is location variety.
I am NOT expecting the best Racing SIM ever. That will be AC2 most likely.
