I think ctOS could be a pretty good system in reality
I know that the ctOS get's abused to spy the citizens of Chicago in the game and I also would feel uncomfortable if someone like Aiden know that I buy a lot of condoms for example. But aside from that I think that the idea of the ctOS is very good and can help a lot of people. For example when there is any kind of emergency like a car accident ctOS could alert the paramedics, fire brigade and police much quicker than any human would be able to do. Or the other example, where the pedestrian says that the police caught a burglar before he was able to enter his house thank to ctOS. Or that guy who threatens to kill his wife when you hack into the first ctOS server. I bet the police was there in the next few minutes. An other good thing are the scans the police do when they are searching you, because I think that such a system would help the police to arrest fugitive criminals faster.

Yes, Watch Dogs shows that somehing like ctOS has negative sites, but I think that it would do more good than harm in reality.

Suddenly, every script kiddie is Bin Laden. I don't know about you, but I don't wanna live in a world where everything is connected to a master server that can be easily exploited by cyber terrorists.

Well with all those subliminal messages in the game about Illuminati, I think that this game tries to give us a message, that they're already spying on us with their so called CtOs in real life. They're kidding us. Huh ! We already know that Microsoft (with Kinect) is working for CIA to spy us. Maybe you'll rage on me and say that I'm watching too much movies and that I'm just too creative, but those are real...

ctOS is a single OS that everyone is connected to. You are running everything in the city on 1 connected computer. This is a bad idea. Not like "oh thats would inefficent" no its a bad idea like "oh my god were all going to die" Anyone who has even purused a network security book, can tell you you don't consolidate important systems into 1 system. Because if one system becomes compromised all your systems become compromised. Traffic, power, water, cable, internet, secuirty, emergency, all need to be on there own systems. ctOS makes a great backdrop for the game and story, but no one in there rightmind would ever implement this unless they are looking to undermine national secuirty. Its just plain a bad idea.
