Is it really THAT bad?

I know of all the bad things surrounding this game, but does it deserve the hate? Or is it a band wagon hate? Please, no JonTron video, thank you.

Sorry if it seems like I'm white knighting or whatever, I've never played the game and am looking for a serious answer for past players.

Yes its that bad. This and Final Fantasy 14 version 1.0 are the biggest flops in the history of gaming (ff14 2.0 is the bomb though). When this came out, I got it in the mail, installed it, and couldnt force myself to play past the first campaign. The entire first campaign is killing robot frogs and flying robot mesquitos. It is horrible beyond words. The sidekicks they gives you are the worst programmed ai characters I have ever seen. braindead and cause you to have to replay missions over and over because of their actions.

The sad thing is this: before it came out they released a DM (deathmatch) demo, Daikatana DM1. That demo showed the game off and it was sooo amazing. It played fast like Quake 1 and had awesome weapons. It felt good and was one of the most fun games I have ever played. Then they released a updated version of the demo showing the changes they made to the game engine called DM2, with the same playable map. For whatever reason, they changed the engine and physics and it went from being very awesome to unbelievably, mind bogglingly bad. They changed the game for whatever reason and made it horrible.

It flopped and caused Ion Storm to close down because doucher romero spent all their money.

This is a horrible game. I hate to burst your bubble though this is hardly the worst game ever made. That title goes to "Plumbers Don't Wear Ties"

The game was pretty average when it came out. The only reason why its getting so much attention is because of all the hype built up behind it with romero.

And plumbers dont wear ties is not considered an actual video game. Just a series of still video shots with selectable decisions in between some.

Nobody is lying. Just because they call it a game on the box doesnt mean its actually a game.

If it's released on a game console as a game. It's a game, it doesn't matter if it's the bare minimal of what can be a game, it still is. Video Games also are defined as any kind of interactive media where you get to control the outcome. Hate to break it to you, but it still is.

No, it's not nearly as bad as ET.

Yes, it's pure bandwagon hate and a lot of it is people not realizing that Jontron reviewed the N64 port not the pc version.

Not to mention that ET wasn't even the worst atari game. The port of Pac-Man was far worse.

I've seen alot of indie games that are just quick cash ins on the retarded indie craze and should not have been released. That being said this may be bad, but there is infact stuff out there far worse that costs more, yes some of them infact being indie.

You are being completely ridiculous. Now your saying it's not a game at all even though the very first comment you made here was saying it's the worst game of all time, right beside a final fantasy game.

Arguing that Heavy Rain isn't a game is silly but the argument is there, arguing that this isn't a game and that anybody that claims different is lying, is just plain childish.

You sound like you haven't even tried it, just watched some videos online and thought it was worth this much hate.
