Auto-purchase trading post

someone explains to me how it works ??
there is only one list (which I think is the purchase order), but there is not a list of sale!
automatically he buys the total of the products offered in the order that I give him .. but with what pays ?? following which order of the products stored?

Each vendor has a certain list of items that he will buy, so when you do an auto trade like I believe you are suggesting what happens is if the trader accepts any of the items that you have in your trading post then he'll make the trade, if he doesn't accept any of those items then he goes away.

I don't recall if there is a specific order of the products stored that he'll take for payment, it could simply be random, i just don't remember.

You can set which items are bought first by using the up and down arrows on the left and the amount of goods you have on sale at the right.
So if you need stone use the up arrow to put this item at the top and have goods to trade for items this merchant wants in return. Have enough stone and need more iron ? Set iron at the top etc. It depends on the merchant which items will be taken from your trading post.

done so in effect it makes little sense ..
would have at least had to set the order of goods to give in return ..
so if the trader, in exchange for his goods, he asks two products I could decide what to give and in what order ..

the car-purchase buys the total of the goods offered in the order that I give him?
and the merchant takes in exchange for my random thing?
