How to stop starvation?
when one person starves (while stores and markets have plenty of food) it suddenly starts killing everyone in town and there is no way to stop this effect even when everyone is producing food and stores have over 2000 of stuff to eat.
Is it just bugged?

How large is your population? 2000 is enough for 20 people for 1 year.

around 200-300. that 2000 is the lowest point of the year. it varies from something like near 10k to 2k. And after the starvation starts, it doesnt stop even when theres over 5k food. it just keeps going until everyone is dead.

200 to 300 folks needs 20k to 30k food to not starve. You are simply not producing enough food. Once the starve cycle starts its hard to recover. If you have a trade post trade all you got for food to get abit of temp relief and start making more gatherers huts, hunters etc. If you are relying on farms its over since they only harvest in the fall. Never get more than 1/3 of food from just farms. Use all the food buildings evenly...fishing needs lots of water to be useful. Orchards take 4 years to get food from and then its nothing special. 1 person eats 100 food per year. ( it seems to go fast)

Good explanation. I like it.

I was thinking that the game was just bugged. That makes things clear.

setllers wont overide a task if their hungry and thus normally starve before getting round to eating

You sure? I see these items in the patch notes:

-If citizens are already walking to get food at a distance location and become starved, they'll now interrupt the walk and get food at the closest market or storage barn.

-If citizens are working far from home and become hungry, they'll eat food from their home as if they brought food with them. This will not interrupt the current task. If no food is available at home they will interrupt the walk and get food at the closest market or storage barn.

I'm at 200 citizens, and the only time I've had a person starve is when I built a housing complex that boxed them in.
I witnessed a settler go get wood with a good amount of food in storage then starved todeath while chopping, could be that if someone is dropping food off to the household the other members of that house will carry on with their tasks? it seems this could be the problem, as a settler could take a while to get to their home
