Housing Mod?
Is there a housing mod out there that reassigns housing to allow for population growth?

For example, on a map I'm playing now I have a couple of 50+ year-old women living by themselves (neighbors at that) while youngsters of a breedable age are awaiting housing. What I'd like is a mod where the ladies would move in together in that scenario, opening one of the houses up for a new family to help sustain the population with a minimal number of houses eating up resources.

Semi-related observation: Is it just me or are a significant majority of children born tend to be female? I get something like a 2-to-1 girl-to-boy newborn ratio.

You don't really need a mod for this. You can kick old people and single people into the boarding house if you have one, which you always should, by using the Remove Structures command or the upgrade building option and then either reclaim it or follow thru with the upgrade. Hopefully a new couple will move into the house while whoever you kicked out stays in the boarding house or moves in with someone else.

Sometimes this won't work and the person you kicked out just moves right back in. You can try it a few times and maybe it'll happen but not always and it seems to work best when you have an abundance of pairs ready to move in.

The game will also re-pair single people of the opposite sex and move them into the same house to free one of them up. It won't always do it, sometimes it takes a while and sometimes you have to force it by kicking one of them out. You can also kick both of them out if you have single opposite sexes living in different houses, move them into a boarding house and then reclaim just one house. Usually they'll both move into it.

And yeah, the ratio of boys to girls can get way out of whack sometimes. I've had towns that were up to 70% female at one time or another and now I have one that's almost all males.

It means your families vs housing stat you wasnt paying attention to and you kept building.
Town hall>1st tab> families vs housing>always want 1/3 more families than houses.
