Have you been building houses? Without them your young people won't move out and set up families of their own.

Take in some nomads. In order to get nomads to come to your village you need a Town hall, footprint of a market and footprint of a trading post. You should also have a hospital, if at all possible, as nomads often bring diseases.

The footprint is the ground marking where the area is darkened, but the materials aren't all there yet.

Same thing happened to me before. Building houses tends to fix this, try building three and giving it a year, see if you get kids that way.

As deadcode said, nomads are great for that issue, but again build houses so they can live and reproduce as well. :watchingyou::watchingyou: give them their privacy though

Building houses is really the only solution to population stagnation. Adults have a relatively small window of time in which they can have children. I'm not certain of it, but from my experience it's between 18 and 40. I've never seen an adult past the age of 40 have a child, even when paired with a younger adult.

I find it frustrating that the game doesn't move adults out of their parents houses into a Boarding House...I really had thought that was part of the building's purpose when I first started playing the game. I figured that once a child became an adult they'd move out and the chimneys on the boarding house would start smoking and I'd know it was time to build more houses...instead the kids waste away at home...it's a lot like real life in that way... >.<

How easy do you want the game to be?

From what i'm aware of, the original game has some set peramiter for the age of a citizen (adult/worker) and wether they are able to become pregret (some mods expand this age limit). This apparently starts the moment a child becomes a worker (which seems to happen at age 9). If the adult is past a certain age (not sure what age that is) they are not able to become pregnate or cannot make someone pregnate.

This type of thing happened in my first town and I was left with nothing to keep the village going. This seems to be avoidable by slowely making new houses instead of making a bunch all at once. With many new homes all at once, there is a large jump in population. If new homes are not built for when those new people are ready to have families, they will stay in the same home and not reproduce as much (or possibly not at all). By slowely making homes availible you can more easily manage your population and expand the town without overstretching your resorces.

That's a really cool idea of using the bording house. I wish I was skilled enough to make a mod for that.

Children become workers at 10.

Workers are able to have babies from age 10.

If you have a school they become students.

Girls do not have babies until they have left school. Approximately 18.

Women do not have babies after they turn 40.

Men can father children until approximately 50.
