because of how much people want to see mechanics like this in other games

"Consider" is totally perspective.

How successful Banished is, you have to look at:
- How much it influence the genre.
- How many copies sold over the years.
- How long it has been played without any added feature.

Then, there are other things you have to consider:
- How many games try to copy and expand on Banished formula and how many of those games succeed. Across the board "better" than Banished.
- How many indi games (one man job) have sold over 1 million copies {and gross 30 millions as you said).
- How many games out there are "considered" "completed", and "finished" for all of their players. Preferably, those that don't need to add features via paid DLCs.

That's just my opinion.

P.S. If my games gross 30 millions in 10 years, I would retire for good. Making game isn't a walk in the park.

Banished is the best game ever made,1 man made this game and there isn't a single bug in the game and then all these knockoffs have bigger dev teams and can't make a game 10% as good as Banished and their games are full of bugs

Banished is good due to the mod support. Thats why the game is still being played.

I see that you own the game, so you should play it. Once you figure out how to avoid your people dying in the first couple of years, you'll see why most folks love it (even if it's not for you, you should still be able to see why it IS for other people).

Yeah, I'm not really sure where that came from. The game is complete, and quite obviously so. Scrolled through the reviews to see if maybe there were a flood of weird ones, but I don't see anything about it there. I suspect somebody maaaay have been huffing farts.

Colonial Charter is a must use not because the game isn't finished without it, but because it's very very very very very very very good. It's basically a fan made full on expansion/DLC for the game.

I'd call it a survival city builder. If you build wrong, your people do not survive.
