Coffee Beans?
Where do you plant coffee beans?

Coffee beans need to be planted in an orchard. I like it when I can get them early on. I plant the orchard then just forget about them until later on. By the time I can build a coffee house I have quite a few beans. After I build a coffee house I usually make another orchard to keep up with the demand for coffee.

I got it thanks.

In MM8, there's a small greenhouse hidden among the "themed mods". One of the mods in there is called B&B. It contains a greenhouse with decent coffee production... No seeds needed. ;)

I watched a playthrough, where the guy built the Globe Theatre, a Few Colleges, those six storey apartments. And then infilled with loads of coffee shops, and gift shops, and bars, and kitchens.

I like to think it was a "College" Community that lived and worked there eh. Was very cool.

I donno what the purpose of the Coffee house is?? is it just a bonus to happiness? An addition to the game to add atmosphere as mentioned above??

The coffee house is seen by the game as another kind of Tavern and has a happiness radius. Coffee itself is flagged as luxury item, to be used in "happy places".

I now know. Thanks

The coffee house is a great tavern/gathering place. It grinds and serves coffee. I also provides tobacco, wine, and whiskey. I have not tried ale yet.

In theory, it should supply ale, too.l And mead. And beer. And, at least in theory, perfume and luxury foods.

Wow! A "one and done" stop for bannies looking to relax! It's been a long time since I've made perfume and that was before I started to build coffee houses. I've never tried ale, beer or mead but now I have a good reason to work on those.

Mead is easy. Use the tiny workplaces. Beekeper and that alcohol-producing thingy. There's another one that makes ale from fruit (like, uhm, apples...). I've never tried beer, though, but it's a logical consequence. And the others - well, they're luxuries, too, so they should go there. In theory. Can't remember if that's actually the case.

ETA: I just checked one savegame where I had a coffee house. There was nothing but coffee and coffee beans in storage. At least it was 509 coffee, though. Perfume was produced pretty much next to it, so that didn't work. I didn't check for any alcohol production nearby, though.

It seems like 99% of the time the house only has beans in storage. So, I kept it's window open for a few years. The most I saw in storage at the same time was coffee, corn whisky, wine and tobacco. I think that was a real lucky glance at the window because when I looked again all was gone and it was back to just beans in storage. Apparently the bannies consume their luxuries' fast.

I just started a new town (I deleted my old saves) so it's going to be a bit but I'm looking forward to having some good fun trying out some new things.:steamsunny:

Yes, I started a new town, too. I'm currently experimenting with various city designs - and found the good and bad sides of a lot of them. Right now, I'm experimenting with the Emporium instead of a regular market place because it can employ more vendors and has insane storage. It seems to work better IMHO. If only there was a way to limit how much of each potential good a market may store...
I'm also a big, big fan of the three-story buildings from the Medieval Town mod - they look great, and are quite good at reducing the need for space for your residential buildings. Not to mention that the more expensive ones have great insulation. :D
