Still makes no sense for them to be homeless though.
Guess they have no choice but to wait for the bridge or die of starvation first.
when you start a game, you could build a boarding house and your settlers would live there.
However, a boarding house will never be occupied by your own-grown population.
For that you will need to build houses.
In the past I used the boarding house to save some of my people when they were getting cold or hungry to fast because some other houses were hoarding to much food.
Forcing them out of their houses by upgrading the wood house to stone house (which I then paused) so they would move into the boardinghouse that had plenty of food and firewood.
But in this case they were not forced out of their house or anything. Just got lost and kicked out by parents.
