(Young adults) being homeless, while boarding house is empty
I've always been careful with building new houses to fast as it could cause mass birth effects.
I have about 60 adults and 12 children and they all were housed.

Suddenly I noticed some people (around the age of 17/18)were homeless while no houses were destroyed. Aren't they supposed to stay with their parents till they have a suitable home?

I even have 2 empty boarding houses, but they do not move in there.
Seems the only option to fix this for now would be to build new houses, but this shouldn't have been the case.

Anyone noticed this before?

It did happen to me when I blocked the entrance of a house with other stuff and the villagers could not go back home after a day's work.

Seems they did wander off to some far end of the map and got stuck as they couldn't cross the water anymore. I already cancelled the resourcegathering there but they are stuck till the new bridge there is finished.

Still makes no sense for them to be homeless though.
Guess they have no choice but to wait for the bridge or die of starvation first.

Young adults will not live in a boarding house, they requirea house.

Once a person of any age moves out of the Boarding House they will not move back in, period. You might as well tear them down for the materials. The boarding house only holds 25 people so any increase over that amount puts people on the street.

the boarding house is only occupied by nomads.
when you start a game, you could build a boarding house and your settlers would live there.

However, a boarding house will never be occupied by your own-grown population.
For that you will need to build houses.

I usually let such idiots die. No rescue crew coming for the idiots that can figure out how to cross the creek once, but can't figure out how to get back across. I figure it is best to help Darwin in this case instead of letting such idiocy pollute the remaining gene pool. :)

Haha guess you do have a point there Wise Joe.

In the past I used the boarding house to save some of my people when they were getting cold or hungry to fast because some other houses were hoarding to much food.
Forcing them out of their houses by upgrading the wood house to stone house (which I then paused) so they would move into the boardinghouse that had plenty of food and firewood.

But in this case they were not forced out of their house or anything. Just got lost and kicked out by parents.
