Taverns Not Producing Ale
So I have two taverns and a healthy supply of wheat, but for whatever reason they've stopped producing ale. They'll both stock wheat, but then a minute later or so it's gone, with no ale produced.

If I switch to another ingredient (apples, berries, etc) it'll make ale no problem, but when I switch back to wheat, same thing.

Anything I'm doing wrong?

Got the same problem.
I'd like to think it's because maybe my villagers have risen above the temptations of alcohol.

But I reckon I'm just doing something wrong.

oh wait, it took +100 wheat for them to produce. it gives 10 ale. But the city just consume it right away. Very expensive ale, i hope they had a good party at least :D

yup and worst part is that single tavern only can make around 160-200 ale per season :/ and that ammount is usualy instandly consumed

Don't use wheat for ale. It's highly inefficient. Using fruit from an orchard is 3.33x more cost effective.

An orchard with 2 workers will significantly outpace a wheat field with 5 workers for ale production.

yeah, i just need to get some fruit seeds :P

The tavern is useless, and waste of resources. Totally not needed. I keep mine just to have a cool looking building, lol.

the food cost to ale ratio isnt all that great it seems. plus the villagers drink it like its going out of style. how people drink KEGS of ale so fast is beyond my.

It's great for trade. It's the most efficient item to trade in the game if you use fruit to make the ale.

You could trade wheat 1 for 1 for fruit from one of the traders, and that will still be a 3.33x gain in efficiency.

You can also make alcohol from berries. Since those get gathered all year round (which makes absolutely no sense, but whatever), production will be steadier than when you're reliant on crops that are harvested once per year. I find that a lot of the time, people grab all the fruit as soon as it's harvested, even if there's plenty of other food in stock.

If you've got a surplus of food from having alot of gatheres you could switch to berry ale until you're happy with the quantity of alcohol being produced ?

Yeah, I changed the 5 wheat fields I had nearby to varying fruit orchards instead, going to see how that works out. That way, if peaches won't produce, I'll switch to apples, pears, etc.

This is still a problem. The tavern worker(brewer) simply goes back and forth with 100 apple/cherries/whatever, and never delivers them to the tavern. I tried cycling the work off and on, numbers of workers to 0 and back up, but that only resets the symbol showing lack of resources, it doesn't fix the infinite loop.
