And a hospital wouldnt hurt either
Do you have enough clothing? What kind of food variety do you actually have?
The health bar will increase more because of new populaion though, as the old people die out.
I find that it helps to have the herbalist right down-town next to the market, and then buy herbs from the merchant. This saves the sick villies the long walk into the dark woods looking for the herbalist, with the possibility of freezing or starving to death on the way home.
The hospital doesn't help with normal health problems; it is beneficial only when you've got an outbreak of mumps, ..... yellow fever, etc.
not true.I have over 900 and need 8 herb guys at full time. Cause my pop use the herbs as fast as i get them. Its one of those random things per map that is not always the same.
Offering a nice sortiment of food they do not consume herbs.
not to mention,my storehouses and stockpiles are always full my markets i have like 6 have tons of food.i make alot of food...as in i have extra of all. And the people still eat the herbs as they did when i first started the map. Tons like 350 per year///Maybe i need to play for another 50 or so years for it to drop...but no point imo
i did see someone said not to have homes near the cows/sheep or whatnot...i can see if i move them if that helps...but am burnt on the game till some mods come out
And on my other town, they never eat herbs.Pop there is only at 400 tho,i have kept it small for almost 100 years.
This. If your one herbalist is a long ways off in the dark woods, then lots of productivity is lost by villies walking all the way there & back -- and possibly starving on the way home. You do need more than one herbalist in a large town -- my largest was 1,050+ and I had 10 herbalists -- but they need to be relatively easy to get to for your sick villies.
Herbs are fairly inexpensive -- 5 trade units each. I set up an auto-purchase to buy 200 or so herbs each time that merchant came.
That's with a properly supplied everything.
1 herbalist to support 100 villies: Yes, and we all said so.
1 herbalist to support 900 villies: No, that herbalist would be totally ineffective.
Maybe there's a formula, like 1 herbalist for every 100 villies, or something, but I've not seen it in writing. Experience with large towns will tell you how many herbalists you need.
You cannot use villager count to determine weather you need more then one herbalist. Distance is the facotor you use. 100 crunched up villagers 1 herbalist is fine. 100 villagers spread out over a pretty fair distance and you will have issues's. Not a lot or game killing to be sure. Every time a villager gets sick, they stop to go get meidcine.
A few well placed Herbalist gets them healed and back to working.
