Multiplayer?
will multiplayer every be put into this game. Playing with friends and either working on 1 city together or everyman for himself would be cool!

No.
why not then...
The game was not made for multi-player. The Dev stated he didn't code it that way and it was an old school game. In his words it appears he isn't even interested in implementing it.

Now, I am not sure if a modder could do, but he is releasing a modkit soon.

There's no way to "mod in" multiplayer - it has to be built into the foundation of the program.
Thanks SSpawn, I wasn't sure. I can't mod..lol.

Not necessarily. Kerbal Space Program wasn't built for multiplayer yet there is a mod that allows it. I agree that it isn't the norm though. I honestly rather beefed-out single player games than devs spending resources to make them multi, so no complains here :D
thanks guys, i was wondering if it was possible

There is also that mod for multiplayer Skyrim... Pretty buggy, but it's there, and it works.

Then explain the skyrim multiplayer mod, or the Oblivion multiplayer mod for that matter. Bethesda does not build in multiplayer functionality to the foundation of their games.
A multiplayer is rly nice i think

And how on earth it should look like? 2 Village on 1 map? Not a good idea. Or building on the same village? Well that would be a bit of chaos right? ;)

Another reason why this never be happend is the engine:
It is selfmaded that mean it is not even at a long shot able to have multiplayer supported. You would need to reprogramm the entire engine code (and most of the game himself) just to be able that is support a multiplayer and than you would need to make a multiplayer and netcode and so on. So forget it.

There are games out that dont want and need a multiplayer this game is definitly one of them.

And Silbernirvash and Ashra52: The engine of Skyrim/oblivion have a multiplayer support build in (the engine himself not the game). That mean you dont need to redo the entire engine just to have a Multiplayer. So not so a big deal to add a Mutliplayer support here with the engine tools. But in case of Banished the engine is SELFMADED. That mean as long it is not already in the engine you cant not just "add" something to it. It wont fit. It not just you need to have a netcode or something you also need a specific system that store files in a way that you can sent it to the another player. This engine cant do that.

It is like you want a car that run on petrol now use diesel instand.

You necroed a year old thread to say the exact same thing that's already been said... Are you retarded?

McRib, just realized that you responded to me, but to be honest... I have no clue what you're trying to say, at all.

That adding a multiplayer to a game is not as easy as you said. Some engine support multiplayer so pretty easy to make a multiplayer even if the maingame doesnt have it. But in case of banished the even if you hire a expert it wont work.

Yeah, your ability to comprehend English is severely lacking. I never talked about it being easy or not. I only gave an example to prove the other guy wrong.

Actuelly, my english is pretty good i live some years in canada. And i explain why it not going to work. Skyrim and Oblivion have the same engine (update version with a different name) that have a multiplayer option build in (but not used). That why somebody was able to make a multiplayer for it.
