Leave no baskets behind!
"Leave no baskets behind" is becoming my favorite bug.

If my farmers leave anything on the field - the entire field becomes useless from then on. This has happened to numerous games for the past week.

I have two storage barns, neither are full at the time of harvest.

I have a screenshot I will share. But you will see three fields in the lower portion, with one basket each.

It's as if the game no longer realizes those baskets are there, and considers the field 'in use'.

So, please, implement a 'Leave no baskets behind' fix.

Thank you!

I've had a similar problem, but it happens if you cap out your food while harvesting. Even if your food storage is completely full for a second, all harvesting tasks will disappear and all crops not gathered will be left to rot on the field.

Also: I think baskets are considered a Laborer item, so if you don't have any they won't come pick them up.

Also also: Resource gathering orders can get in the way of food collection. Watch out with those

Even if my storage was full, it quickly empties - I have huge amounts of people. But regardless, it never gets cleared. It's a game breaker.

I had this happen once. I deleted the field and put a new one in it's place.

It seemed to work, but it's not fun to have to do this.

So tell them to pick it up.
What have you tried to fix it before declaring the game is broken? You have played for 12.5 hours and have not one achievement, some are rather easy to get. This leads me to believe that you are doing something wrong.

If your farmers are not collecting all food from a field most of the time, then you are doing something wrong.

Edit: Saw the pic. You have zero laborers, so who will come to pick it up?

this is a laborer issue, since you don't have any, things won't get done. yes, the farmer went into laborer mode and ran off to do other work. It knows they are there, it's just to busy doing other labor to get to it yet.

You are rude. Don't bother responding to people if all you are going to do is get into an extremely accusatory and hostile tone. If I am misunderstanding something, fine. But you don't need to act like that.

Secondly, because people started starving - all of my laborers went into other positions. Achievements aren't my goal - I don't sit there attempting to garner the most people - I try to build stable environments that have good foundations for possible long term games. I play this rather casually.

And also, if something is not working as you think it should - you should make a report, and if it's known, or you're doing something wrong that's why there is a community. Was I rude? No. Did I go off about how the AI is useless? No (I don't believe this, just an example.) Is it possible I'm mistaken as people state? Sure.

Get off the internet, and go learn to be a human being again.

Thanks everyone who responded, I'll try those things and post if it resolves the issue.

When that happens to me all I do is set priority up on it and it gets taken care of right away. I've only had 1 crop not grow 1 year in all my towns because of this.

By looking at your screenshot, there are several things that could be an issue. It is true there are no labors to help get your items/resources picked up. It appears you are building way too fast and again no labors to assist the builders.

You should put more into your gathers and if you do farms make sure they are maxed in workers. Without max farmers this could also be an issue of the baskets being left.

I don't use but a couple of fishing huts no matter how large my village/town gets. They just don't produce a large quanity of food.

But it could just be my play style, but maybe it will help.

heh give him hell anyway

the laborer have work to do, and if you have none, the other professions do laborer's work. Basically you set off a trap and it got you. and if you're going for stable, you've got to be caeful with farms. They are the most unstable, unless you build them and surrounding infrastructure very, very efficient

I think you are the rude one who comes to ♥♥♥♥ on a game and say its broken because you fail to understand the mechanics of the game. Go play peggle or something.

You must not program - reporting bugs, or even things that are frustrating are part of the process of making a better piece of software/program. Try learning ruby or something, you'll understand.

And take your elitism out of here. It's ridiculous to act like you know someone based on ONE post.

C'mon! Can't we all just get along? Most folks ask legitimate questions about things that they don't understand, or things they feel aren't working properly. Why isn't this OK? Sure, it's a little aggravating sometimes when the 11,239th person asks how to get a cow or how to get nomads (like, who wants 'em?), when new folks should start out by reading the FAQ & tips. There are those on this forum who conscientiously try to answer every question, without resorting to Noob-bashing. I'm not one of these nice people, 'cause sometimes I really do get annoyed. But then, isn't this why God gave us the "go back" arrow?

You must not either, or you would know this is not where you submit bug reports.
Maybe next time instead of telling us the game needs to be fixed you could ask what you are doing wrong...
