Cows produce Milk!

While cows are LIVING they produce milk. Cows are those miracoulous animals who turn grass into milk. Milk is the most complete of all food. Only dead cows give beef and leather. It's really a very reduced point of view to forget, that the greatest value of cows lies in giving MILK.

Dev, come on and take care of that. Otherwise modders might take care of it, but that's somehow sad ...

These cattle seem to be a version of beef cattle and not the dairy type cow.

Then how the hell do they reproduce?

Same question goes to chickens: I know roosters really only give meat, but c'mon, they're a part of chicken society too!!

On another note, if there's no milk...does that mean none of our villagers are able to make butter? And therefore bread?!?! NO PIES?!?!?!

You can have cows that look more like dairy cows, but... you still have to put up with that whole travelling under water thing...

In Colonial Charter 1.6, there are two types of cows. Beef Cows mature faster, resulting in more Beef. Fresians (in the U.S. we call this type of cow Holsteins) are a type of milk cow and provide Milk but less Beef. This is done to balance what each type of livestock produces. Because of the balancing, Since Sheep furnish Woo, milk wasn't added to the products they produce. In Colonial Charter 1.62, Leghorns are now maturing faster, providing more meat while Chickens lay eggs faster.
