Best items to trade?
What are some good items to trade for? I know food items go for one a piece. Its a little hard to meet 2500. Whats the best item to keep stocked to trade? EDIT: This question was answered years back, but I'll leave it here for other people.

Firewood is worth 4 i think, and you have an unlimited supply of it.

Ale can be traded for most anything, and I think if memory serves me right it's 10 per unit.

also isn't as critical to your population as firewood.

but if you have a ton of firewood in storage, that works well too

Firewood and venison. Firewood because you can overproduce it like crazy, venison because you can trade it 3-to-1 for other food.

Also steel tools & warm clothes once I'm comfortably overproducing those.

Firewood and venison are OK. Just build one more hunter forester and woodcutter than you need and slowly increase the amount of these products held at your trading post. You'll have a thousand of each in a couple of years. That's 7000 worth of trade credit

Yeah, Clothes and Tools are the best items to export due to their cheap manufacturing process and high value.

I wouldn't trade tools or cloths, their materials are hard to come by. A tools shortage can be very painfull.

Something i experienced only with my first village and then never again! :p

Firewood the first years, then tools and clothes here you go ...

Once you get livestock, wool/leather and clothing (if you have enough pastures to feed your population, they will generate way more leather/wool then you could possibly use)

firewood all the way once you get your foresters and woodcutters up you can easily overproduce 10k firewood each year giving you nice 40k trade value each year (or 30k with the i got every posible product trader)

Furniture. I do firewood at first and when I'm ready, build a joiner and that's a better return, same materials.

Firewood and herbs in the beginning. After that,it depends on what you're producing. In CC and MM there are a ton of things to choose from.

If you are using CC or MM, Reeds are my 1st choice. One Reed Farm produces over 1000 Reeds per year with 1 person. Next is Charcoal - forget Firewood. 11 Charcoal are produced from each log by the Stacksburner vs only 4 Firewood from a Log. Stone or Wood statues are pretty good too.

Domestic Animals if you your using CC
1=250 trade value.
