Guys,

I have the works, ive got all but the bar.... I dont want my wifes to be beaten at night, and boys touched by drunks in my village....its a drink free town... Anyways

I have the pastures x2 and Ive never had the option from any of the traders to buy/trade livestock

Any idea guys? its messing up my look as i need the wool.

I think there are 3 or 4 merchants. One for seeds, One for livestock and 1 or 2 for just stuff. They'll be along eventually, but it can be a while.

In my game a merchant visits my settlement once a year. Every year another merchant as Landlocked mentioned.

Even when the merchant that you want comes. And you place a special order. It might be four or five years before you see him again.

Yes the merchant for livestock seems to be less regular than the other merchants. I guess you can only wait and hope the next merchant is the livestock trader. Although I would suggest you building that tavern. I haven't had any boys touched by drunks yet, only girls so far. For the wife beating issue, I don't think it's all that bad, since the husbands started beating their wifes, my overall productivity of food production has increased.

I spent about an hour cursing the traders, i'd built my trading post, loaded it with goods and nothing! Then was looking about map for area to expand and noticed that Id build my trading post on a large inland lake. Brilliant!!

patience is a virtue, until you have sheep you need at least 2 hunters to maintain a clothed pop of around 100 people. Later cows give you leather and with a bit smaller pasture for sheep you will have evenly amount of wool+leather. If a trader has no livestock and you order it for next year be aware ordering costs way more. To pay for animals best to use is wood in my opinion but some expensive tools can also work. Just make sure to stockpile first because you wont make it in time to put enough goods to trade into the post when you only have 2 traders, he will eventually sail away if youre not quick enough.
Also buy at least 2 animals of a type for obvious reasons ^^

And once you have three full pastures of each of the three animals, then the Livestock Merchant will come three times in one year.

its quite normal if there is no close age avaible 10 year old oftenly marry 40 year olds and have kids happens very commonly at early game just like it happened in middle ages with most arranged marriances

In my game i got offered chickens twice. Bought them the second time, then requested sheep for the next time....40 years later the trader has never returned. Apparently these guys are related to lil' bo peep.

Yes this is a feature, if you build a tavern, your people might get too drunk and molest little children and beat their wifes. Well of course it was only a joke :)

I have put orders in 2 times for sheep from the merchant and all he ever brings is cattle.
