No sound

So Ive been playing for a few days and just assumed that sound has not been added yet but I feel like that isn't the case. I checked my sound mixer and the game isn't even coming up. Anyone else having this issue?

I'm currently having the same issue, no sound in menus or in the game. I'm going to try reinstalling the game to see if that'll fix it up.

Currently running Windows 8.1
XFX Radeon HD 7770

Will post back if I find out more.

Uninstall and reinstall did not resolve the issue, audio is still completely missing. Not sure if there are commonalities between the issue you're experiencing and what I'm seeing, but if there are more people than just me experiencing sound issues perhaps there is a deeper issue.

I'm going to continue to troubleshoot and will get back with any information I find.

I have a similar issue. I get audio but no video but able to fix it by turning the tv off and on. Then it will have video but no audio. Not sure what the deal is.

Okay, got it worked out. This post on the Banished website explains it:

"After starting the game, some of you may not have sound. I missed a module that needed to be included in the installer.

The simple fix is to download and install the DirectX End User runtime. You can download it here. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109"

This should get you going! :)

Same link, not sure why there is a quotation mark at the end of the Microsoft URL. Anyway, it still works.

Just installed and reboot and there's still no sound...

Been without sound for a couple days now and decided to try and fix myselr..

What helped me was when I clicked on more volume settings from the volume control and went to volume mixer, banished was set to play out of the speakers, but I also had the option to run steam web helper and steam app in different outputs as well so I made sure to set them all to the same output and it worked perfectly. Hope this helps others as I did not realize steamapp and its web helper had to have audio.
