You find out if anyone has some wood to trade for your sheep?

Some sheep came on a trader's boat and I bought 2. I imagine that some are just there on certain map seeds and you can just wrangle em in

Trade boat myself
I have a trading port. Does it matter that its on a lake?

Put it on the river! Not the lake.

You need two things to acquire sheep - 1) A Trading Post, and 2) A Pasture. Certain traders arriving by boat to your trading post, will offer various foods, resources, and livestock. They may only take specifics items in trade, so be prepared to stock your Post. Follwoing the transaction, you'll need to designate your pasture and the brilliant lil buggers will wander on into it. Leave them in the trading post too long, and they die off thereby wasting your investment.

Or you can start your game on easy mode, and begin with some livestock. I've seen sheep but Idk if that's the default.
Ok so rebuild the port on my river, then stock it with recources to trade? I have chickens, medicine, wheat, and iron. Is this all i do? When will the trader come, i will not last more then 1 more winter, as i have 41 people and 5 jackets to go around.

Trading port can be on a lake, Mine is and it works fine, aslong as it's connected to the river. All my livestock came off a boat, there wasn't any wandering around the map

The trader coming is completely random. In my experience, you don't *need* jackets. They are nice but not a necessity. It will probably say your citizens are freezing but I don't think they will all die.

Only stock what you want to trade in the port, not everything you have, because your citizens won't have access to what's inside the port. You need to hire workers in the port to get them to bring items in to trade as well. Good luck!

Hide jackets should work fine if you have firewood handy
I dont event have hide jackets. My hunters suck and only get like 5 hide a year, so I am seeking a more stable recource in sheep.

The trade boats are random, as is their cargo. I haven't seen or figured out any patterns as yet.

How do they get from your trade post to your pastures? You can't benefit from their utility (meat/eggs/wool/leather) if they remain at the trade post.
Ok it says Squash Beans cost 2500. 2500 what? What do i give him?
Benzrathe Feb 18, 2014 @ 10:45pm
Enough of your trade items to qual or near that amount. You'll see each of your items have a value: firewood 4, steel tools 10, herbs 4, hide coats 15 I think... etc. 625 firewood = 2500

And you actually only need to buy 1 sheep. You don't need to buy 2 to breed.
