How can i get new farm animals?

i was wondering how to get diffrent animals in my pastures.
I just built a town hall and realized that sheep (the only farm animal I have) were in "trade items" so does that mean i can get them from trading? Are there other ways?

The only way to get livestock is through a Trading Post. The fact that your game says they are a tradable item is new to me but it means that you can trade sheep for other items.

ok thanks thats helpful. ive got a trading post but they haven't had animals yet. ill see if i can order any from them if not ill just have to wait for them.Thanks. :)

The livestock trader doesn't come very often. In a recent game he didn't show up for 18 years after building my trading post, other game every few years. Go figure.

well. i haven't seen an animal trader yet and im on my 16th year. hopefully they will find my village/town soon.

Did you start on easy?If sheep are lit up in your town hall that means you started with them.Build a pasture and see if you can put sheep in it.If not,it's a good idea to have a pasture ready when you do buy your livestock (make sure you are buying livestock and not food).

yep i had sheep at the start (started from easy as i am pretty new to the game) and had 3 pastures for them but wanted diffrent animals.btw i saw an animal trader! However he was only trading sheep so i ordered chickens and cows from him.

build a few spare pastures with nothing in them i tend to find he comes pretty quickly after that but each game is diffrent

It's also good to keep a spare in case you get in infestation,you can move your animals to the empty one so they don't die.The infected pasture is good to use on a different kind of animal.
