Coal and Houses?
Grrrr. Ok, so i have literally thousands of firewood (main currency for trade, 5k standing and 2k in each of my 2 trade ports). Population floating around 100.

Is there a way to get the people to STOP using coal in their house and stick to firewood. As an exhaustable resource, I would like to stockpile a bit of coal, and keep it mainly for use for tools, but im seeing house inventories burning through coal and its VERY annoying. All houses are stone houses.

What am I missing? I can't find anyway to 'lock' resource use, so I cant managed anything.

Unless you use mods, there is no way to keep your citizens from using whatever they want to warm their houses. :-/

Just trade for coal, soon you'll have so much you won't care even if the villagers start eating it.

Put your blacksmith right next to the coal stockpile.

What grace said :D I usually just produce tons of it myself though, enough to keep them all happy. Mods work too though :D
Just remember that if you use mods, you can't earn achievements.

I usually keep my Toolworkships in a mountain rich little corner build some housing and several coal mines shut all down but one mine and let just enough people work to keep the coal flowing..i dont even mine for iron i just plaster everything with wood's and firewood production as my main export..
