How do the new Animal Pens in CC 1.6 works?

I play now with the Colonial Charter 1.6 and do not understand how the new Animal Pen works. They do need to be used in order to get wool from the sheep and the lamas. Theret is also a pen to be used to get milk from the cows.
To build one of these "Pens" it requires resource "domesticated animals". I do not understand how to do?

The Domesticated animals comes from the traders that come to your port. I will tell you this from experience that you will be waiting for awhile for them to bring. I think my first one came 30 years into the game.

You need to buy "Domesticated Animals" from a merchant. When the boats are at the trading post, look for them on the list of items you can order. The 1st time a merchant brought some for me, they only brought 3 :( Each pen comes with one fake animal (sheep, chicken or cow as appropriate) and you can add 1 or 2 more decorative animals into the pen. The output of each is pretty good so they are worth building.

Hmm ... Is there special "Domesticated Animals" that you can buy? I have already bought sheep and llamas from the trader.
You can not build that "Animal Pen" if you do not already have these "Domesticated Animals" It's a resource required!
By the way, there was a couple of sheeps running away. They ran off to the far corner of the map where they still remain. But apparently they still count in the pack! Well ... ???

If I build the specialized farming trader, might those "domesticated animals" be offered for ordering, or maybe just come around sooner?

Domesticated Animals is a product called "Domesticated Animals". When I ordered them, I was using a regular Trading Post. Not sure you can get them from a livestock merchant - I think it is the food merchant.

I'm guessing the production rate is much higher.

Regular animals require a large pasture and take time to breed/age/get slaughered.

The pens are a small 3x3 thing that magically produce stuff out of inexistant animals (the Domesticated Animals are either a Dry Good or a Material, I don't remember).
