Ok thankyou
Because my mapseed only has 4 children and since im using realistic aging mod after those 4 have matured it takes a really long time to have the next batch of adults
----> TIP # 8 : ----->HOUSING VERSUS DEMAND
1. One house can hold one familie of 5 people. Each villager ages 4 years every year.
In average 1 house per 2 adults should keep your population " renew " themselves.
You cannot reach your goal population and then just sit on it, you must make space for the younger generation. A couple will have so many children, then stop. Their kids will live with them until they get their own house. If there isn't one, they won't move out, won't pair up and won't have kids.Building a house IF you want them to move in and have more children is HOW you manage the population (must be aged > 16 but < 40) . You shouldn't "pre-build" because someone will always move in immediately.
HINT---> A boarding house comes in handy when you upgrade wooden houses to stone and to take nomads in. At all other cases citizens prefer a house for themselves to start a family or they stay with mum and dad.
>>>>>>>>>>An adult is someone who isn't a STUDENT or CHILD.
>>>>>>>>>>An adult can marry another adult, or a STUDENT
Early on, boarding houses are a serious waste of precious rare resources for very little gain. If you want to upgrade homes, just keep one family homeless for the time it takes to upgrade their home. Preferably, though, do it with couples/singles beyond the childbearing age and keep upgrading until everything is upgraded.
And regarding the mods slowing down aging to a normal level: They keep things more relaxed while playing. Especially if you're just starting out - or dealing with just another population explosion - slower aging is AMAZING.
- All dependent children will always stay with the mother. (Anyone want to confirm this?)
- Couple will have a soft cap at 3 children. No more children until one move out.
- Split couples don't have extra spots in their houses.
This is probably coded this way because house only have room for 5, and the parents could be forced back together at any given time.
I have played with 1:1 mod. It's too slow for me. Feel like playing game at real life pace.
2) Depends on the home, actually. There's no couple's cap, but a home cap. And while vanilla homes only allow for up to 5 inhabitants - in a family, male adult, female adult and three children - there are modded homes with a max of anything between 3 and 7 inhabitants. And while it is quite rare for a family to grow beyond 5, and seriously rare to have a family of 7, it does happen.
3) Actually, I think they do. I've done some (fake) demolishing after finding single-parent homes, and they ended up in families of more than 5. (Yes, they could move into a regular 5-person home. The thing is - you can move a family into a home that is too small for them. But you cannot grow a family any bigger if their current home is too small.)
