Struggling with the lack of iron and stone
as the title said. how do i manage to get enough iron and stone in early game, without having to wait for traders to come, because often times they didn't bring it.
telling the laborers to go far away from home is too risky

There's usually enough iron and stone scattered around to make it to at least year ten. Are you building stuff that takes a lot of each, like Chapel, Town Hall, Hospital, etc?

If you want the traders to always bring something, order those items for every visit. Note that the trader will only bring the items you ordered and nothing else. General merchant is best for buying resources.

Don't build too many stone structures until you secure your stone source.

I'm planning to, and maybe upgrade the houses to stone house

Edit: iron is usually the most needed as its used for creating iron tool

That explains why a trader always bring seeds, because i set them to "every visit".
I already set them to "never", in the next gameplay session i'll wait for the traders and hopefully i can order

Setting the traders to "never" doesn't work for me. The game just sends me a new seed trader (or whatever) with a different name. If you ask for only stone and iron "every visit", then you are more likely to get those items. If you ask for 3 or more different items, you might still get only one or two items, and none of the other items.

Set both the General Goods trader and the Resource trader to only stone and iron for every visit in the early game and you will more likely get those items. However, the Resource trader will only take other resources in exchange, so keep a good supply of firewood available to trade with him.
