For those that know how to play we don't seem to have any problems, but those that don't know how to play seem to have all types of issues.
+1
The game wasn't abandoned tho, it was just finished and he moved on to his next project.
There are many people over the years who have had zero issues playing this game. Hell even today people still have no issues with this game.
in recap Not understanding/liking a games mechanics isn't the same thing as a game being broken.
What next project would that be? For all you know this guy might have been hit by a bus or got covid and died.
I don't remember exactly what the project is, but there are links in this forum that take you to his website talking about his next game hes working on.
And you keep talking about all these issues yet haven't actually listed any. Outside of the rare pathing bug that happens on map generation name the issues.
To start off with... THAT statement alone proves OP is a troll and just being combative, and only here for attention.... anyhow
With 10 seconds of "research" (I literally typed Shiningrock in the search bar), I was able to find the link to the developers' online site, where he has been actively posting, on a regular basis for many years... https://shiningrocksoftware.com/
Obviously, this whole thread is a joke since you keep 'saying' the game is flawed, broken, incomplete, unfinished, blah blah blah blah blah... (nothing but verbal diarrhea), YET you cannot even mention ONE single example to help give your statements any sort of support.
For you to take the time and effort to come on the forum and post a thread about the subject, would lead us to believe that you found game-breaking bugs or some other things to call it "flawed" and "abandonware", but all you could muster was " If you played the game that long then you should know what I'm talking about" sort of garbage.
If there are "so many people who feel the same as you", then where are they? Why are they not rallying around you, supporting your case? ... maybe those other 2 people had better things to do **shrug**
Basically, all this thread is about, is you posting your OPINION about the game being flawed, and providing NO examples... NO proof... NO people backing you up... NO facts whatsoever.
I have been playing this game for many years and understand the mechanics, and have never once found ANY bug or glitch or issue whatsoever... I have not even encountered the infamous "edge of the map" glitch that is very well-known and documented... Iv'e heard about it but have never seen it because it's super rare. It isn't a case of me "overlooking the flaws",...
I truly haven't found any of these so-called "flawed, broken, incomplete" mechanics, so PLEASE provide some examples of the "issues" that were so bad, that it warranted posting a thread about it on the forums and commenting about it on another thread.
This is a common complaint from people who don't know the game. They sit there and stare at the hunter and screaming at their computer screen, to have the hunter "kill the deer." There is a limit to the amount of deer, the hunters can kill, so many times you will see them wandering the area around the Hunting Cabin, but not killing deer. Here is the rule ...
A hunter will kill a deer when they come into contact with one, and then head straight to the nearest storage barn to drop off the meat and leather, without stopping at the hunting cabin. After each kill, no more deer will be killed by any of the building's hunters for 2 months - this limits the maximum to 6 deer per year.

I advise that you save the link to banishedinfo.com
It is very handy, with basic info about the vanilla version of the game. Place you mouse pointer on the word "Wiki" along the top of the page. Then move down and to the right, for a topic you are interested in.
