UI scale for 4K resolution [FIXED!]

I'm not the first person to notice this but the UI scaling in this game is kinda broken. Dragging the icon scale slider to the right makes the icons bigger, but dragging the UI scale slider to the right makes the UI smaller! What's worse it that even with the slider all the way to the left, the UI is still too small for 4K resolutions. I thought there would be a mod to fix it but all I found is other people moaning because they had the same problem. Anyway, it took me all of 5 minutes but I found a way fix it, here goes:

Windows key > type 'regedit' and press ENTER
- Ctrl+F (Find) > type 'shining rock' and you should find Shining Rock Software LLC in KEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE
- Expand the folder then click the 'Banished' folder contained within. A list of values will appear on the right hand side
- Find GameUIScale and double click it (default is 75)
- Enter a value BELOW 75. 50 is about right for a 4k monitor. Remember, lower is bigger.
- Hit OK and you're all set, boot up the game and test ;)

Thank you so much! This made the game so much more enjoyable. I was tired of squinting even with my glasses on haha. Changing it to 65 made a huge difference.

I know this is a "necro," but it's completely legit to necro a thread like this one - It is still relevant and is a valuable source of information.

I checked to see if there was a Guide, instead recommending someone sticky this, and found one:

Don't know if it still exists as a company or even website that is still owned and run by the dev , but there's not going to be any updates to the game.

If this process helps players that have gotten bigger or much better monitors, then that's probably the best solution you can get, if you don't want to play at a lower resolution. Eg, I often played in windowed mode, and for that, I pick something like 1600x900 . It works OK on my bigger resolution monitors. Enough graphics and text detail for me, and I can easily move around to other windows as needed.

Bump ! This works nicely thanks! I'm on 1440 and 50 scale is nice.

Note - if you go into game options it will default it back to 75 scale - just redo the reg edit again.

It will revert whenever you go into settings so if you regularly do that and are lazy like me you can create a registry script to easily reapply settings.
