Textiles
I play with the megamod 8.1 and i have the oppertunity to harvest cotton on the fields, which i wanna use for the tailor shop, to make coats. But.... the game turns my cotton into textiles in the barn.

How can i make coats? How can i use the textiles to make coats?

This sounds like a mod conflict. When I grew cotton, I harvested cotton, which I could then turn into cloth.
That being said, the cotton harvest is notoriously low, so I prefer to buy cotton in my trading post (and add some feathers for good measure).

Priscilla, I believe you are on the right path: Cotton is a textile and it doesn't get converted in the storage barn > it just classifies as a textile. Before the cotton can be used you must first contruct a Weaver that can turn that raw cotton into cloth. Once you have the cloth from the Weavers then you can turn that cloth into clothing at your current tailor.

Long story short:
1) construct a weaver,
2) assign a worker there
3) switch over you tailor to produce clothing from cotton and this should solve your problem.

Let us know if anymore questions should arrive! :)

Olympe, there shouldn't be a mod conflict as the cotton production chain is the same across all the mods (even Vanilla).

Okay i have build me a weaver, didn't look at the layout of the building, but that doesn't matter, only wanted to see if it works. Have choosen for the clothes option from cotton, although i don't see cotton in my storage, only textiles, my weaver got 8 cotton in it, to weave. So i think it works.

Thank you so much Koei, was affraid i was doing something wrong and to start over again.

I am a bit confused. I have a weaver and i have a tailor, I have choosen for the old tailor from the megamod 8.01. Yes the weaver can make clothing from cotton, but all tailors don't have the option that i can make coats with clothing, only cotton, wool, fur and leather. So can't use the clothing in the tailor.

So i have waited until the cotton was harvest and follow that. The cotton goes to the market, the tailor goes to the market, picked up the cotton and brought it to her tailor house. But because i don't have much cotton on my fields, the cotton will run out very quickly, and my tailor has no work to do. I think that was confusing for me, because it looks like she won't work with cotton, but she will and is. So more fields with cotton for me :-)

Yup, a few of those textile crafting chains require a ton of raw materials. It's the same with ropes, you need A LOT of materials to craft one so it sometimes feels like it's not working :)

Priscilla, it seems you have built all the correct buildings so that is a good start. Here is my recommendation: Build at least 2-4 crop fields where you grow cotton (at least 11x11 or 15x8 size). Those are growing your cotton and ensure that you have enough. That cotton will go to either a storage barn or to you market (both are fine). Your newly constructed WEAVER will pick up that raw COTTON (raw material) and turn it into CLOTH (processed textile). The weaver will also bring that CLOTH into a barn or market. Your TAILOR (who cannot use cotton) will go to the barn or market where the CLOTH is and turn that CLOTH into clothes that your citizens get used. Sorry for the caps > they indicate each of the important steps and stress the different materials.

So in short:

Building: CropField
Material Used: Nothing (only labor)
Material Produced: Cotton (raw)

Building: Weaver
Material Used: Cotton (raw)
Material Produced: Cloth (textile)

Building: Tailor
Material Used: Cloth (textile)
Material Produced: Actual Clothes (that your citizens can wear)
