NO SOUND

everything runs fine but NO SOUND AT ALL!! i've downloaded and ran DirectX already! seemed to work, i had sound until my computer went into rest mode. when i woke it back up, back to square one, NO SOUND!!

Id call your manufacturer if you are under warranty, sounds like a comp problem and not a game problem.

seriously does no one have a solution to this? uninstalled, reinstalled, reinstalled directx, downloaded and installed in correct locations, restarted computer, deleted all mods.. i have literally done everything. has no one found a way to get sound back?

This might sound strange, but are you using a Controller? (Steam or XBox/PS4 or other)?
If you are, exit Steam, unplug the controller, restart Steam and launch Banished.

I Love how you expect the randoms that help in the forums for you to EXPECT a fix when the game has ran fine for everyone else fine for years on end. With your attitude I hope it never gets fixed for you.

Maybe I missed something here but jtsoderberg is not the OP. mkennedy9213 is and that was back in July. I don't know if we helped or not but mkennedy9213 was always polite in their response to our suggestions.

? im frustrated that my game wont play any audio. idk, i'm sorry if you took it offensively when it wasn't supposed to be. hopefully i didn't ruffle any feathers. i still have tried it repeatedly. uninstalled steam, the game, redownloaded the drivers, re hooked up the speakers. it's the only application on my computer that won't play sound. all other steam games play sound. i've seen plenty of people in various forums say they never found a fix and it still won't play sound...

so it doesn't run "fine" on everyone else's pc. its broken for many others as well and i'm just surprised that my computer somehow targeted the sound of this game and only this game and no one has encountered this issue and found a fix for it. idk. the game lacks considerable immersion without sound so it's not really worth playing to an extent. it's sad and i've been frustrated.

Hello jtsoderberg - I know nothing about how to fix problems like this as I am not nerdy enough. But, I do know that RedKetchups Editors Choice mod has a different soundtrack than the vanilla game. Actually it's rather nice. I don't know, but maybe, just maybe it may have some different kind of programming that would work on your machine. I believe the RKEC mod can be downloaded from the Steam Workshop mod collection.

SO the only real thing I can suggest is to save wehre you're at in the game and close and open it again and make sure that your headset or speakers you're using for sound doesnt get unplugged the game is kinda jank in the fact that any sound device you have for it if it get unpluged or you open your sound settings the game sound will not work until restart.
