Check your RAW Materials Limit, if you have reached the limit, then you won't produce clay at all.
Check your Construction Limits, if you have reached it, you won't be allowed to produce anymore until you raise the limits.
If there are two types of Brick Buildings, One is called a Kiln, the other is BrickWorks build them both near the claypit.
You must have a Fuel Refinery making Furnace Fuel. Again, check the limits on Furnace Fuel, I usually set this at 1000 and forget about it. I also feed the refinery with a Fuel Vendor Cart. It makes it much more efficient.
You can also add a Raw Materials Cart close to the BrickWorks, it may or may not bring clay in enough quantity. I usually build the claypits, and brick builders close to one another. Then I have a Furnace Fuel Cart feeding the BrickWorks building.
I also build dedicated storage facilities close to the claypits, and brickworks. So I would have one raw materials stockpile usually one by five or so, and one construction stockpile, or you can use the buildings available for those storage facilities.
Remember to check that the clay pit is set to dig clay, it can also dig sand, and turtles and froglegs.
