Colonial Charter Guide?
Now I've gotten the most interesting achievements I'm ready for another challenge in Banished. I've downloaded the Colonial Charter mod, but feel slightly overwhelmed with the amount of new stuff.

Does anyone know a guide to start with this mod? So far I've only found a guide for an update of CC.

And a side question: I see there is now a soldier profession. The one thing I don't want in Banished is to fight enemy's other than nature's hardships. How does this work, are there a lot of battles? Can I somehow turn this off?

I'm not sure what soldiers do in Colonial Charter (maybe occupy some of the fortifications you can build?), but there are no wars in any form of Banished. That would require actually changing the base programming, which mods don't do. Having soldiers gives you more items to produce, more items to trade and more structures to build. That's one of the great draws for Colonial Charter for me--so many things to do. I'm up to about 750 citizens in my latest town and there are still production chains I haven't yet implemented. So far I am trading for any essential items I'm not producing, but when it seems right I replace one of those with locally produced products.

Thanks, I'm glad to hear. I thought I did see an option for starting location where there's other folks that might be hostile.

So far I've explored all the options in the building menu and decided to just start building the things I know and gradually expand with new stuff. And lots of Googling (luckily there are many answers on specific questions like domesticated animals). Just the fact that hunters now kill ducks and I get to have a Grape Forester and a small trading post and new fruits and veggies is already awesome.

There's options to have natives whom you can 'befriend' but it's a total RP thing where there's some pre-allocated structures that you need to pay rare in-game resources to make use of. There's nothing akin to war in this game, the soldiers are just the workers for the military work camp IIRC. Not sure what they produce though. When I've got my 36/36 done I'll hop back onto the mods and double check for you though.

There's a guide to colonial charter in the guides section here.

Also interesting is this site, which gives you a list of all the stuff you can produce - and how to do it.https://www.silisoftware.com/tools/banished-colonial-charter/

Here are some other links I'd recommend if you want to learn the ins and outs of Colonial Charter:

Well, I spent hours researching that stuff. And days reading through everything I could find.
Ah, I forgot one link, though.

Should help you decide which climate to play. Or not. Depends. ;)
