Extreme, harder than Adam and Eve
I found a mod that gives lots of different scenarios to start out. The hardest one is extreme, this mod name is minor mod.

You start with two people, male and female but the catch is what supplies you start with; 15 firewood and 100 roots. It took me lots of failures to figure out how to do this without losing them.

1. Pause the game, bring up all your menus because you will need to pause frequently and watch your resources. Also pin the storage cart somewhere you can see the food.

2. Build a small 5x5 or 6x6 storage lot right next to cart. Do not build it over iron, it’s ok to build it over some wood or stone by try to keep from having to remove anything.

3. Build a gatherers hut right next to storage lot and a log house, keep the game paused still but pause construction on the house.

4. Highlight 5-6 trees right next to this area and some stone piles.

5. Put both people into builder, unpause game and do x10 speed. Pull the construction screen of hut to the side or just stay clicked on it frequently. Because the moment they have enough wood and stone to build you need to unhighlight any trees or stone, do not waste time.

6. Once the hut is finished, pause game and check your resources. Place one of them in the hut, unpause game and start house and highlight areas for wood and stone. Monitor your cart closely, once you get about 50 combined food (regardless if roots or onions) pause game and remove person from hut and add them to house builder. By this time it should be early autumn, if your further than that, both people will freeze to death.

7. Once house is built, pause and build a wood cutter, put one person back in gatherers hut until you get around 100 combined food, then remove that person and add them to building the wood cutter.

8. If you make it to this point, you should have about 5 firewood but cross your fingers the woman doesn’t die in child birth. For some reason if she dies so does the baby, if she lives then you are about the point of starting with the Adam and Eve mod.

Good luck!

In RKEC 1.22 mod you can have another start a lot more harder :
Jack & Jill : 0 food, 0 firewood, 0 tools, 0 cloth, no building not even a barn nor a stockpile. nothing naked...

Yep... played Adam and Eve for awhile, but then went looking for harder. Found your new Mod pack Red and have played Jack and Jill ever since. Took 2 goes to figure out the best startup strategy and now it's super easy once you know how to start. Mind you I don't use disasters or Nomads and still am able to get all kids educated. Just takes planning. Thanks for your Mod Pack Red.
BTW...I'm 65 yrs old so no excuse for you young ones. :-)

I have not heard of the Jack and Jill, I had such a hard time with the Extreme mod lol but I will try the jack and jill one. Thank you

I tried Extreme without reading the entire top post. My folks died just as the house was finished. I built the Gatherer too far away from the house. Tried again, got through the first winter, then Barbie died in childbirth. It's a good challenge, thanks.

I would be VERY interested to learn how you can avoid starving on Jack and Jill. In my experience, it takes 2 months to gather logs and stone to build any food-producing building, and don't people starve in that time? Don't tell me, though, I want to try it myself.

Ok, I give up, what's the name of the mod for Jack & Jill? I did a search for "RKEC"-nothing. Found red-ketchup v1.1, not 1.22. It's not in the mod I have that has "Extream" (sic). Searched for "red". Searched for "ketchup". Can't find it.

Ah, "RKEC" means "Red Ketchup Editors Choice". Cool code, bro. Gotta learn the lingo to play, I guess.

Build the stockpile on top of trees and stone, and the people will gather the resources faster, because the people literally do not have to transport the stuff to a stockpile. The people can simply drop the stuff on top of the stockpile the people are clearing. It's a great harvesting technique.

Also, Extream mode was designed to be as hard as the vanilla game will allow. I don't think a harder start is possible without other mods.

I didn't think of that with the stock pile, I will definitely try that. Thank you!

That stockpile trick is definitely not something you can look up. I discovered it by accident. I used to build them in clear areas too. Then one day I watched some people "build" a stockpile, and after that I always built them on top of resources. After I discovered that trick, I looked it up. I found one mention of it on a mod site for bigger stockpiles, and that's it. It's not even in any guide.

I've just started Jack and Jill took about 7-8 tries but figured out the start. Take advantage of the wild food search and the fallen trees for firewood.
Town is now around 600+

hehe yeah this Jack&Jill is crazy ! i dont see though how someone can do this one without RKEC Wild Food !
OhhJim Mar 16, 2019 @ 10:31pm
You can't do Jack & Jill without Wild Food, of course. It took my couple six months to build a Gatherer without tools or resources. Then you'd have to build a house and a woodcutter, and by then they're dead.

I'm looking forward to playing Jack & Jill in the near future. You've obviously done a lot of work on it, and it will take a while to learn what does what. But for now, I've got 7 adults, 2 kids, and plenty of basic stuff after 9 years. It took several tries to survive the first year.

you will get it :) RKEC is still super easy. add a ton but everything is simple till you get used to make tier 2 and 3 items.
