Trade Chicken Issue

I like to quickly set up pastures for raising trade chickens. Trade chickens sell for 250 a pop. I buy eight trade chickens from the trader to start off. Time goes by and the next opportunity to buy trade chickens arrives. I have enough for seven trade chickens. I buy them. These seven stay at the trading post and they never leave. I knew this would happen. It always happens. You have to buy at least eight trade chickens for them to leave the post and join the pasture. There is enough room for them in the working pasture plus three other pastures that can be used.

Why won't an amount of trade chickens less than eight move from the trading post to the pasture? Anyone know? Is there a trick to get them to move?

It shouldn't do this. I would try buying one less and see if that works. Chickens breed really fast and you'll get the last one in no time.

The first 8 went to the pasture on their own as they should. The problem is if you buy less than 8 trade chickens they don't go to the pasture on their own. The group of 7 I bought were taken to a barn by the trader. I bought 8 again not too long ago and they went to the pasture as they should.

It's just annoying to have happen but once you get a nice group of trade chickens going they reproduce like crazy and they'll pay for anything you want. I like having 4 pastures that hold 60 each.

I see the problem. It's like the difference between Chicken [livestock] and Chicken [meat]. They are called the same but one is livestock and one is meat. I'm wondering if that's the problem here that sometimes the Merchant brings Trade Chickens that are livestock and other times brings Trade Chickens which can only be used for trade. Unfortunately, Kralyerg, who created the trade animals has taken some time off and I can't ask him about this. Sorry.

Thanks. I don't/didn't know there were two types of trade chickens. I have built 6 different trading posts because I like the looks of having all the different trading posts. These trade chickens came from the Dry Goods Supplier.

You might be able to tell the difference based on price. Trade Chickens the Livestock should cost 400 each just like Chickens the Livestock. However, the Trade Chickens produced for Trade should only cost 250.

The trader at the Dry goods dock came back with 7 trade chickens for 312 each. The farm dock had 8 for 500 each. So I think you have helped me figure this issue out. There are two types of trade chickens. Thanks brumby.
