Hello, there won't be. Dev is finished with Banished project for good.

We don't know what the dev's next game will be. He sometimes posts blogs on his website about what he's doing (Shining Rock Software), and it seems he's currently tooling around in the engine he wrote for Banished trying to adjust it.

It could be for Banished 2, it could be for some other game, we don't know yet.

any other games similar to banished?

It would be great if he updated and finished Banished 1 before he made a sequel

Banished is a finished product. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't done.

I like banished, that doesn't change the fact that the boarding house has a stone bridge icon that was never added and that you get random blizzards in the middle of spring.

I first started playing it years ago, if the developer had any passion in it he would have at least added one building by now

No he wouldn't because he already before the Release of Banished said that it is a final Product and he will only work on bugfixes and patches for it.
He never stated that banished is not finished.

damn guess it's finished if he says it is

That being said, there is an enormous wealth of community content if you haven't explored it already.

Also, you might check out "Frostpunk" and "Foundations" if you like banished. Foundations is in alpha still, Frostpunk is excellent.

A "Banished 2" doesn't make sense. Don't get me wrong, I love this one & I would love to see more similar games from the dev, but not a series about banished. The story is that you & yours got banished from your medieval town/kingdom/whatever & you have to create a new life out in the middle of medieval nowhere. Theoretically, you accomplish that, so no need for a sequel, or at least not "Banished 2". I think it would be cool, however, if the dev expanded his horizons though. Maybe a colonial sim based around the design & engine for Banished but styled after Anno 2205 & 1800?

Or you could change the scenario.
- Your people live in 2450 and have been banished on a habitable planet where they need to survive.
- Your people live in the 17th/18th century and have been banished on a new continent where they need to survive. (Australia, anyone?)

An interesting potential mechanic for both scenarios: You don't need to buy seeds from a trader - you can cultivate them from what you find on the new planet/continent. However, you don't know much about the plants. Are they poisnous? Do they affect your people's health in any way (positive or negative)? Which food group does it belong to? Which temperatures and how long do these plants need before they're ripe and ready for harvest? You will have to find out either by analyzing the seeds (only possible in the future scenario) or by trial and error. (Oops.) Oh, and since it wouldn't make sense to give you some advance knowledge, the properties of all the plants will be assigned randomly with every new game. :D

So yes, you can get a freak weather occurrence and they do happen in real life.
