1. Pops are happy if they are getting Fruit + veg + grain + meat/fish. You don't have to grow more than one crop of each type to make them happy, just one of each type.
2. Diseases are crop specific. They will jump to infect the same crop in a nearby field. They can't infect a different crop.
Besides having loads of different cute plants growing all over the palce is just pretty :)
I'm going to make my town entirely on potatoes!
I would guess corn and wheat are grains, the rest veg! Is that so??
That is so.
Wheat differs from the other crops grown on fields in that it can be made into ale. Apart from wheat only fruit can be made into ale.
Thanks for the info. Needed to know since I want/need to plant only corn & beans next spring to get a guaranteed 100% yield from my cropfields, since I can't afford to lose just 1 % of it, cause I get more and more people and lose to much yield every year!
And I don't have fruits anymore, gave up on orchards, cause they're too unproductive. And since then I also gave up on ale, too!
You can also increase the maximum number of workers for each field if you have enough people and thet harvest too slow.
Fruits are needed for a balanced diet and full health. But you could trade for it if you dont want orchards.
And I have fruits, mostly berries and fruits I buy from traders and then I still have some herbs to keep my people healthy!
