Seeking a *Flattest Possible" vanilla map seed
I'm looking for a Large, Valleys map seed for the vanilla no mods game (v1.0.6 build 160521)

I've been trying lots of random seeds but even otherwise good ones have either mountains or those little hills that are just barely big enough to prevent building on near the map center.

I would like to find the flattest map possible, with the map center totally flat for at least 200+ tiles in all directions from the storage cart you start with.

I've searched the forum on the shining rock website and it appears long dead, and /r/banished is woefully inactive with mostly out of date seeds. The seeds shown on both sites just don't generate the same map in 1.0.6.

Map generator changed since 1.0.5. The new map generator seems to create bumpier map than old one.

Check the link below.

Not all of us find that the benefits of using mods outweight the fact we can't get achievements.

You need some hills to build mines, but yeah I wish this game had a custom map generation or more control over it.

If you've got "mountainless mines" ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=487129900 ) you can plop 'em on flat land and then later destroy them and re-use the land for something else

I do miss achievements. Mods just improve the game too much. You can probably bypass it by illegitimately using the mods though.

While steam games detect mods, they don't detect cheats.

What do you mean?

Why does anyone care about achievements? The entire point of a game is to enjoy the game itself.

That's like buying food at Mc'Donald's just to play the Monopoly Board and not even eating the food.

Uh, that is pretty much the only reason I'd buy McDonald's. Especially after you know people who work at them in management and realize the pieces are dominant to region so have a friend or family member in a few states over get the one you need. I mean, i'd still eat the food, but I'm not buying McDonald's to eat McDonald's.

Imagine this scenario: You enjoy the game like no other, you're addicted to the game and you're so addicted to it, that achievements become part of the addiction. It's a win-win situation. Not caring about achievements means you don't care about the game much.

I use achievements to inspire me to try playing the game in a different way.

If the game doesn't inspire you by itself then no achievements can fix the game or make the game worth playing.

That would like playing runescape only for achievements. Not liking the gameplay one bit but just being excited oh hey i accomplished this while hating every minute of every second actually playing the game. Masacists.

What your describing is a job your not getting paid to do.

Eh, they've given me single game goals before. The "ready for anything" and "one with nature" and the one for no schools in particular. I would not have played the game in the manner required for some of them if they weren't there.
