You can use mod to change landscape as you wish.

There's no user friendly map editor. However, Colonial Charter has made various types of maps so apparently the modkit will let you create a customized map - when you figure out how that works. However, there are certain things you can't do. For example, all maps must have mountains around the edge so you really can't create an island or seashore.

Few questions:

1. What would one need to create a customized map?

2. Could I then play this map in vanilla game?

You could ask Discrepancy at WorldofBanished.com or Kralyerg at BlackLiquidSoftware.com.

Why is that a problem?

I don't want to login on 2 sites just to ask a question and then probably never return! Especially if there are maybe other options to get the informations.

If you are hoping to make your own map and be able to get it to work in the game, you will have more than one question. Steam is probably the worse site to choose for information about modding. Most of the independent modders hang out at World of Banished (Red Ketchup, Discrepancy, kid1293, embx61, tanypredator, etc.) BlackLiquidSoftware is the site for the Colonial Charter mods and there are several good discussions about modding there including Necora and other new modders. These are also the sites that will tell you what the newest mods are and what is being worked on - many aren't released on Steam.

I was just hoping that someone here maybe knew a few things about that stuff, but anyways, thanks for your help!
