Squad friends
Okay listen up, I'm pretty much sick and tired of seeing lvl 1's to lvl 10's that aren't my friends in my squad which my squad is designated for my friends. We try to level up however sometimes we only 2 of my friends on and yea sure we rack up the exp however it is destroyed because of pubbers who randomly join a squad. I was wondering what would your thoughts be if like Developers made like a "Friends Only" thing (I know there is already one, but for some reason newies keep joining) but for your steam friends only

Do you mean pubbies, joining your squad in the middle of the game?
Restricting pubbies from joining a squad, may lead to incomplete matches, or non full matches. Yeah I've been through there as well, leveling up with just 1 friend, can take ages, especially with the pubbies "siphoning" off the exp. But I think it's an acceptable con, rather than have locked "free" positions in match, just because a squad doesn't want others to join in.

One option would be to have a toggle that'll only allow coop exp among certain members of the squad. Hard to code, and might be a bit moot. So I do not really advocate it, but I present it eitherway as something that crossed my mind. *wait wut?*

its just another aspect of gameplay. Unless you create a squad, when one of your teammates leaves, is it really that big of a deal? We've encountered this on several occassions, so what... A player outside our squad joins... The upside is giving new players a look at play within a real squad , and perhaps expose you to a portentially good teammates or new friend in game.

I've been nicely asked to switch/leave a squad to make room for someone.
No problem.
I'm not even bovvered though.

Hat tip, to people like you. Really all you need to do is politely ask, sure there will be people that instantly reply with "♥♥♥♥ off", but that's life for you XD

Also when I started out, and realized how the squad system works, I immediately set forth asking strangers if they would like to form a perma-squad. After a week of asking I got about 2-4, 1 of which became my permanent squadmate.

Later on, having an established squad, you'll see -as Duke said- potentially good players, asking to join your squad :)

See, you don't have to limit yourself with just 4-5 people max. You can have as many as you can, to increase the chances that squadmates are online and free to play :) Hence getting a full squad easier and "not sharing" your coop xp XD
suh as life?
dealwith it not that big of deal.
what the Hell buddy die teamates die part of the effectdiff Sq. mates newbe takes placedo your Job Mr.
But Levels 11-100 who aren't your friends who join your squad are all right? Way to be a ♥♥♥♥. If a slot is open because your squad currently doesn't have enough members playing, then that is fair game for whoever can join regardless of their level.

Honestly? The perosnal Level may give an indication of how long someone has played, but new players can sometimes be just as good as the veterans (and some veterans can still do worse than the new recruits) when it comes to good teamwork and gameplay.

Since the easiest way to join is by filling a random open spot on a squad you will play with "other" players if your sqaud isn't already full. Instead of blaming the 'randoms', you should maybe check out your own inadequacies. Other players can only contribute more to a squads score; never have I seen 3-4 squadmates be less effective than if it were just a pair.

I think it would be a very bad idea.

newbies would have it way harder to find squads if nearly every squad is some sort of locked because people don't want to deal with externals.

When I start a new squad for 'squad defense' there is an option to select 'friends only'. I find that during the first match no-one joins me (which is what I want). I only want to play solo. I'm using it for practise. After that match ends and it moves on the next, suddenly I have other random people joining. Seems lik the 'friends only' thing turns itself off.

Can someone please explain why this is? I am actually being forced to quit the game and creating a new squad again just to avoid players joining me.

I think it loses the "friends only" tag with map loading. If you want to play alone it would be easier to start a private match.

"Friends only" is only when you are making your squad. Once in game it's anyone can join. Why? Because the game is made for squad gameplay. There is literally no reason to not want people in your squad. Everyone profits. If they are bad? Who cares? Help them. As long as you play well there is nothing "leeching" your playing/leveling in a meaningful way. I'm not a good player by any means but I usually get 800-1,000 pts average per game win or lose. Sometimes my squad is AMAZING, sometimes not so much. BUT, my squads always work as a team and I kid you not, ALWAYS appear on the most effective squad list. How? Because we are always friendly, open, and give advice (without being condensending), all while others are fighting because, "Wah wah, I want to be that role! I'm better, look at your KDR! Wah!"

EDIT: I usually get those points even if I have a horrid KDR that match because I listen to the NCO, always. Bad orders? Doesn't matter. I'm either on the order or at their side. Win more games than I lose that way.
