Lots of unbalance in the game or is it just me?
been playing a few matches today, to get back into the game
und noticed that there were four full squads in the Entete und only 1 or two barely filled squads (including mine) in Central powers

does this happen a lot or is this just co-incidence?
Also the fact that nobody was willing to change faction so things would be balanced bugs me a bit
I play Landsers mainly, because I do German Re-enactment as a Prussian NCO from WWI
But if I see that the other team is unbalanced, I don't mind changing teams to help them out

Yeah it does happen rather often. Short of having a system that forcibly autobalances it's usually going to be a problem.

yeah, sucks even more when the enemy team goes all "GG mates"

I haven't often found that, only time I've seen teams stacking commonly was when new squads were added.

People often leave games though if their being pushed back and losing.
Big Duke Jul 26, 2015 @ 12:05pm
I havent found it often either. Ususally i see high level teams try to face opff against each other.

As for "GG mates" would you prefer the CoD "rekt" ?
Coiler46 Jul 26, 2015 @ 12:19pm
It is funny to see the winning side first to say 'gg' followed by a few from the losers....
I look over the teams when I join a game and try to pick a squad with no NCO on the team with less experienced players. Levelling system makes balancing a bit tricky. Sometimes the game also fills up and then people leave or too many switch and the balance goes with it. Whatever. Just gameflow. You can either move on or stick it out. All good. Just a game ;)

The problem is that when people mass quit from the losing team towards the end of a round, then the remainder often complain about the balance and ask people to switch to make it even. But why would someone leave to join a team that will obviously lose and are most likely to get mass killed. No one wants to join a game when they are likely to get killed and overwhelmed. At the end of the round I would be glad to switch, but not in a situation such as that.

It is usually OK but sometimes people mass quit if they are being stomped and nobody wants to swich to the lossing team.

Love it when the enemy all deserts... Could care less if my team does as well.

More than a few times Duke and I, along with a couple of others in our clan, have switched sides to even things up after the other guys mass quit. We then usually precede to retake the trench we just took. At least one time we took several of the trenches and turned a losing side into winners.

One time we switched, retook a trench or two, and then the guys on our original team mass quit. lol

Yeah I remember us being outnumbered 2 to one and you said "don't worry, it's a target rich environment." lol

Edit: well I guess we both say it. lol

Ha ! I think we lost that one Pat , but it was fun !

I wonder if Leonidas cried about auto balance at Thermpylae ? Its a game boys and girls... just play . No doubt most people who saw that movie think " hardcore!" Put them in a similar situation in a video game - where's the auto balance ? Lol

Video game autobalance? Here Leonidas, have an MG08/15. Specially engraved, "THIS. IS. SPARTA!!".

"Our arrows will blot out th-, Oh wait. No. Never mind they are all dead."

On that note, cue fanboys who actually want this feature. Bonus Fictional Thermopylae Map Turks vs Spartans. "WHER IZ MA GREEK SQUADZ???"

The nagging to switch teams bugs me and I have switched just to make it go away, the squad system means switching disadvantages a player though since leveling is through squad activity.

The heart of the pub stomp/rage quit problem is imbalances in player ability across map matched games. If squads were matched on a totalled skill basis rather than map basis then overall match balance should improve along with decreases in rage quitting and pub stomping . Whether this is on the devs roadmap isn't clear.

I often see this said and normally by the same people who claim no one uses the squad leveling system. You don't often see the level 1 squad opt to switch. However I do often see the randoms in my squad block us trying to switch over to balance. The last 5 squad votes to balance the game have been blocked for me, of course there was a gap so we just formed a new squad but still.

Problem is you can't balance a squad via skills. Level? nope as players come and go the level can change (which is also part of the design intention) And still doesn't = non stomping as it's not a measure of skill.

If you go skill based it needs to be along the lines of personal skill at which point odds are it breaks when you end up with all the camping snipers who get the best K/D because they die less rather than being better players. Could try score but again not a clear show of skill.
