Aim Assist for Controllers
Are you guys planning to add Aim Assist for controllers in the future? Most of the games I play Mouse and Keyboard is superior to the controller, I think it would be a great Idea because, for me Mouse and Keyboard is really uncomfortable and I don't enjoy games as much with it.

I don't think the current PC version need aim assist, if ever a console version is released, sure, I'll would support aim assist to that, but on PC, no.

If however aim assist is added to PC as well you should be able to choose if you want to play in a game/server that uses aim assist or not. But this would need a much larger active player community and I see no point until Verdun reaches that for the Devs deploy any time and/or resources implementing aim assist in the game.

This game is really good I never took it competetive, or Looked at the scoreboard.
And a game like this would really play well with a controller, and more fun at the same time.

I would say Verdun is a competitive game, but I'm not going to add more to this discussion because we are getting of topic.

Any score based game on PC is competetive. Especially FPS.

Consoles are the most popular, with the largest amount of players, and generate the most sales by far.

And the most "elite players" use a keyboard? Where'd you pull that one out of? Nobody even heard of these games.

Maybe it's "growing" because of the OP's point, that it's becoming more Controller accessible, but if not for that, i don't think it would be growing at all. In fact, i guess it can't go no where but up.

I heard about this one only because i'm a war game buff, and saw it at Gamespot, but if not for that, i would know nothing about it. I don't play PC games. I tried this game, but think it's more apt for consoles.

I'm pretty sure Chillydog3D was referring to competitive gaming in general is played with mouse and keyboard. Just look at example how big competitive CS:Go is. But all "elite verdun players" I know use keyboard&mouse in verdun as well.

Heh, you've yet to see competative Call of Duty. :D That stuff pretty much doesn't exist on PC, and it's all done on consoles.

The way I see it - if you're using a controller on any game, aim assit is a must. Even if you're going up against a crowd of mouse and keyboard users, at least you know that's what you'll be facing.

I see lots of people trying to sell the case that a certain game would be better on consoles. Correct me if I am wrong, which I probably am seeing as how I've never played on a console other than Nintendo games, but aren't most popular games on consoles geared toward the masses (and yes I do know that most popular games on Steam are geared toward the masses as well) and not niche games like Verdun is? Nevermind the fact that creating a copy of the game for consoles takes a massive amount of work which the three devs really don't have time to do for a long time seeing as how much stuff they have in the works. I just can't honestly see Verdun doing well enough to warrant a console version. It has a climbing playerbase, the best community for a game I've ever seen, they're making money off of it (the game is still running so I hope that is a correct statement), and there really isn't anything like it out there.

Well i think you make some great points, in that "variety" the PC owns it. You're absolutely correct that Console Gamers, want to play, only in my opinion, crappy games, that the "masses" seem to want to play, and i think that's sad.

I mean unless you want to shoot Aliens, or Modern and Future Warfare, you're pretty much up a creek, where on PC, i can have all the WW2, Vietnam, and now even WW1 that i want.

The problem is, the perception is, nobody else wants to play them on consoles, and that's why i think they remain relatively unheard of, buried on a PC Platform with a rather small base, as compared to say on Consoles.

However, i think we're seeing a "resurgence" of sorts, of people just being being fed up with the games coming out on Consoles.

At E3, the big news wan't necessarily the "new games". The news was Backward Compatibility for Xbox that ruled the day there. Well why? Well people like playing the older games rather than the new ones that have been Lackluster at best, and when you were looking at the outcry for the new Black Ops to go to a WW2 setting, people are just getting fed up with the current genre's.

And so there is a hunger for a game like this on Consoles like we haven't seen in awhile, and being the player base on Consoles is monstrous, as compared to PC, even in Advertisment, a very good argument can be made, that you can go from a 400 player base worldwide, certainly to at least 10,000 from a conservative standpoint. Right now, you 2,000 players on COD WAW, which is a broken hacked old game. Certainly we can do better than that here.

There's just more players on Consoles, that do not have the "variety" Steam or others provide on PC. You guys have Red Orchestra. You have ARMA WW2 mods, you have WW2 Online, etc etc that Consoles don't have.

So i'm a big fan of this Developer, and i try and cheer them in the right direction, and have E Mailed them, and find them to be very receptive smart people, and they are in fact in the works, of bringing this game to Consoles. Though, they mentioned PS4, which is of no use to me.
