kar98 vs g98

I hope this isn't a topic everyone is tired of seeing but I am new and I want to play with the germans to start, I see this are the 2 main weapons for the germans a rifle and a carbine but which one has more use in the battlefield?
I don't what is the most frequent combat situation if the game becomes a battle of snipers or people running around in trenches, so which one has more use for a new player that may play in any escenario he can get into?

I would say KAR 98 although I prefer the G98. But the KAR98 is an all arounder but might suffer at range. Go for the G98.

I've also seen the g98`s iron sights are wonderful for me but the kar98az is a pain, can I still use the g98 effectively in the trenches withuout much worry of SMLEs?
If not I think I can adapt to the kar98az's iron sights

Yes you can but no matter what gun you are using you should always be worried about SMLEs. :]

Well I guess I may get some new friends to go in a squad and assault trenches, I also think I can have a luger or c96 as a secondary weapon

Carbines are faster to bring up sights and faster to bolt. Rifles can be steadied longer.

Kar98's rate of fire is faster than the G98

G98 is actually much better for hipfire in-game. Love using it that way.

Game is one hit kills with long arms. Carbines aim faster and fire faster.

Before the recent update: Kar98 all day everyday. Amazing accuracy, fire rate etc.
After the update: Both are ♥♥♥♥, but the G98 is a bit less ♥♥♥♥♥♥. It is more accurate but a bit slower than the Kar98. Also, you can still hipfire with the G98, which never worked out that well for the Kar98.
I personally prefer a new rifle (I think it's called the '88/05). Due to an amazing accuracy and fire rate.

tl;dr : G98 is the best out of these two.

How good is the g88? I soppuse it's the same story wih this 2, the g88 is a bit slower but more accurate and the kar88 is a SMLE wanna be.
(I still will use the g98 as my primary weapon ccause I love it)

Kar98az in my opinion better than g98

K98 is better at closer combat and a bit faster while the G98 is (atleast before the DLC) most accurate gun in game but is slower fire rate and is harder to use in trenches due to its bulkyness. But my personal opinion is the G98 is the best.

The K98 sounds like something you might enjoy then. The G98 is basically a snipers right hand rifle.
