Verdun VS Battlefield 1.
So, Battlefield 1 was just revealed the other day. And it's World War 1! Hoorah!

Now, Of Course, Due to the fact it's battlefield and it's an AAA game. It'll probably have more players and public talk. But really-I'm not too sure how the players of Verdun are gonna say.

Battlefield 1 has more "intense" combat. may note, unrealistic aswell. Lots of aircraft that do the most crazy dogfights, and tanks, that for some reason go 30MPH. Increase of Submachine gun usage aswell in which they were supposed to be RARE.

Verdun has more realistic not-as-intense combat, and is also a bit more interesting.. if you get me. With bolt-actions rifles being the main weapon and all'

But by the time Battlefield 1 comes out offically (October 21), Will Verdun have Tanks, Calvary and Aircraft to try and manage up it up to the other big WW1 game? Will Verdun really try and keep the players on their side againest Battlefield 1?

Verdun is Verdun Battlefield is Battlefield Two Totally diffrent games

Verdun and Battlefield just take place in the same time frame. They each offer many different features. While Verdun is heavily focused on stratagy and player skill, Battlefield is focuesed on player progression. The community will most likely be divided. (I will be playing both.)

Honestly I don't see this as a problem.

Verdun is a mighty fine game and it's no secret that another WW1 shooter was bound to come around at some point. The only reason people are making a big deal about it is because it's Battlefield.

Should the devs be worried? No.
Should the playerbase be worried? No.

This is not even a new thing to happen. Look at Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm or Insurgency. Both of them are shooters set in similar timespans and locations as a ton of other shooters on the market. And yet people still play them. Because they're well designed games that stand out from the crowd and people enjoy. And honestly, I imagine the same community who play RO2 and Insurgency also play Verdun.

Now this may sound harsh, but these comparison threads really piss me off. I don't think the Verdun community is made up of sheep that are just going to flock to BF1 just because it's also set in WW1. They're both going to play completely differently and I'm sure lots of people (just look at the thread) know this.

There's no reason the devs would want to make their game play similar to their larger AAA-developed competitior and they've said they won't.

To me all battlefields games have been a massive bore, dont think this battlefield 1 will change anything.

Top-speed tanks, fake power weapons and a soundtrack based on the white stripes?!?

I'd say

VERDUN 1 - BATTLEFIELD 0

True story,i have lots of friends who play RO2,Insurgency and paly verdun as well,an myself as well. I dont think verdun players should be worried at all.
