Verdun
Mauser Selbstlader M1916
So I noticed that a lot of people keep talking about the Mondragon SemiAuto Rifle
yet no one really talks about the Mauser Selbstlader M1916

Was it because more Mondragons were made compaired to the 600 m1916 Rifles?

Was the Mauser rifle more of a bad design to the Mondragon?

or did it stay off everyone's radar until recently?

Maybe this gun will get some love in Battlefield 1 like the Mondragon is getting.

for those who Don't know what the Mauser Selbstlader M1916 is

And no I'm not saying this gun should be added to game, I'm just saying that the Mondragon is more known then the German Made Rifle

Yeah it is better known, the Germans used more of them and the Mauser M1916 wasn't a successful weapon.

But wasn't the Mondragon also an unsuccessful weapon with the Infanty.

Yeah but they saw use with other nations and saw almost 6 times the number in WW1. Mauser M1916 pretty much made and then faded in the war.
Just to back up Bishop with some numbers, from what i've been able to find out, the Fliegertruppen des deutschen Kaiserreiches/Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte obtained 3,600 Mondragon rifles. The Mauser M1916 was used by both them and the Ballon-und-Zeppelin-Truppe, and only 1,000 trials rifles were produced. So, whilst I don't personally think either should be introduced into Verdun, it's easy to see why one is more widely known and talked about than the other.

It's also important to note that the RSC 1917 was produced in numbers approaching 90,000, so, both the Mondragon and the Mauser M1916 were exceptionally rare.
