Proximity Chat would be Nice
I realize some might see this as a nitpick, but it always annoys me how if I'm standing behind somebody in my trench that's not part of my squad, and I see someone taking aim at him from an angle he can't see, there's no way I can warn him of his impeding doom outside of standing still and typing for 6 seconds. By which time we are -both- already dead.

You could maybe even add in that -anybody- nearby can hear your proxy chat, so it would be a good way for sneaky opponents to get the jump on you.

I'm gonna say, I should hope that people use the chat more than not. This is a heavily teamwork-based game. And if it's not, it should be.

And I mean, voice chat is essential for quick teamwork. It's much easier to get your message across by talking than typing. We can't just ignore it because some people aren't using it to its best extent.

maybe they would if it was there? i use voice, i see others use voice. I don't really why you are so hardly trying to not get it into the game. It can't be that bad again to mute them if you don't want to listen to them but i'd like to get info from other squads and not having to look at the chat every 10 seconds and then write a message to them.

Because it's almost useless right now since it's only for squads and not the whole team. Plus only because you see the no one is using it, doesn't mean no one really use it.

It's never late to start. But we need a team voice chat too, or even better a voice chat with posittional chat.
I dunno, Luna, I see a lot of people use it when I go into a game. Not as much as other games, sure, but that's because it can be kinda stifling only being able to talk to three other people.

99% of the time if I don't use the mic, nobody does. That being said, I always use squad voice and call ♥♥♥♥ out because I'm too lazy to type (I still type for whole team when important). What I've noticed is that you can pull people out of the woodwork to start using the mic if you do this. I would say 50% of the times I play, I get someone else talking. I then always add those same people and join on friends online.

You're basically arguing nobody uses it so that means it's useless. It's useless now because nobody uses it. If you got more people to use it.................................it wouldn't be useless. Prox chat or team wide would likely bring that out. Because I know I bring them out lots when there's only 3 other people I can talk to.

Do you EVER use it? Serious question.

If you mean voice chat, i totally support the idea. Like what they did with mumble in project reality

Is this the same as Taskforce Radio and Acre for Arma 3?
