Verdun
Squad level 100 is just a dream.
I've played with so many people. Every one of us has good times. Everyone has been above squad level 50. But, eventually someone's going to stop playing, right? Because what you have right now compared to what to get at end-game level is trash, right? Because you kept being killed in that same spot you tried to infiltrate into, right?

I had been playing with 2 people for about a week. Already squad level 70, or somewhere around there. One just never came back online to Steam for a while. By the time me and my friend forgot his name, he had already changed it. Never saw him again. He's somewhere on my friends. The other guy. Had the most progress with him. He lived in the same country, so we had to wait until nearly 7 PM for the guy we never saw again. Let's call the guy we never saw again "Bob." The other one can be "Cool Guy." Cool Guy hadn't played for a while, so when we did get on again after a few months, we had lost 30 levels from Bob never being seen again. Cool Guy found Verdun to be boring and now just a grind to squad level 100. I understand how he saw this as a grind. We really wanted to get to squad level 100. Cool Guy didn't play for a while because of such, and today we had a nice conversation. "Hi, get on. We're playing Verdun because I found another guy to play with." This was 2 months after we stopped playing. "I can't, game broke and can't run at 60 FPS anymore. I'll get 15 FPS if I'm lucky by any chance." He responded.

Sad.

Me and the new guy are only squad level 10.
I still find a bunch of interest in the game, so I probably won't be getting off for the good 2 years I've had with the many people I've played. I'm still looking for others.

TL;DR
Squad level 100 is just a dream. Everyone you find will get off sooner or later, before level 100. I've only been to squad level 70, or somewhere around that.

Squad level 100 is pretty easy. Just make real friends and play.
Real friends doesn't mean they'll want to play this game. They may not even have the game.
I see your point, you don't often see high squad levels outside of clans and groups of friends. I always failed to get my real friends to stick with it, because they all hate it for one reason or another. I did manage to get to level 100 with one person who stuck with playing, after that I joined a clan, full of people who play often, since then dozens have come and gone but if you play with a larger group like that you can really ramp up squad levels with each person there quite easily. There are a lot of "staple" players who've played for hundreds of hours and if you're looking for people to level with I suppose you can... stalk people like them, but other than that you're right, level 100 is difficult because so many new players quit so quickly.

Reaching team level100 is not easy. It normally takes a team or a clan as even "War is better with Friends I" only results in about level44 if with only one other player. Combining that effort with three or four is usually required to reach level100, but I confess I do not know if one can achieve team level100 with only one other by achieving "War is better with Friends IV." I know some who have all the achievements in the game except "War is better with Friends IV," which requires 250K co-op points.*

Actually, I wish the game was a bit different and did not make co-op points so important. Some like to play with total stangers. Some get tired of playing with the same people. I wish that co-op points were not used at all in public matches as the higher level squads tend to dominate there. If you check the most competitive and expert Verduners in tournaments, they agree to all play at the same squad level.

I have a secret list of things I dislike about Verdun and the co-op system with what it entails for artiillery and even uniforms is near the top of that. It would take an overhaul of the game to change all this, but even the best ever Verduners balance squad levels in competitive tournaments.

It is one thing for a new person in the game to face a team with better artillery, but it is worse than that for higher level imbalance. The top squads also reload faster and aim better. Is that fair? Not in the least.

Reaching team level 100 takes time and effort. I suppose those willing to play together for months and years should have some reward but not at the cost of wrecking the game for everybody else.

*i play with just about any and everybody in this community and have over 1,000 hours here. i only recently reached "War is better with Friends I" which requires 10K co-op points. Multiply that 25 times to reach "War is better with Friends IV" which almost all veterans lack.
I would prefer to play with total strangers and to greet new Verduners instead of that achievement. Sorry, my friends.

Took me about ~100 matches with one other person, and actually trying to accumulate squad XP/work as a squad.

If the NCO isn't dropping the order marker, and no one is working towards squad XP, it'll be a slow grind.

I never care my squad level... And I really like french and belgian's lv1 uniform... The entry level's arty and recon are good too. And I really dont like using gas/smoke.
BTW playing the squad defence mode is a good way to gain squad xp quickly.

Yes you need to prompt the nco to drop the marker some forget the marker and the xp it brings.

Playing 90% of my matches as NCO, I never use the order marker. (Since quite some time.)

Why?

I used it for quite some time. But still after using it for more than 2 years, I still played most times in a squad level of max. 10.

For a casual player not a benefit.

Hope you never play gas or smoke squads then, because you'd doing your team a disservice by not utilizing your squad's abilities to their fullest.

I can form high level squads with multiple people simply by playing with them when I see them online. I don't have any real world friends who play often either.

Easy way to find people you enjoy playing with is the ingame friends list, shows when they are online and if they have space in their squad. Makes rejoining a lot easier. If you click their name in the scoreboard and add them as a friend it will put them top of the list when they are online.

Tell this all casual players with thousands of hours played but still playing most time in a low level squad.

This was discussed so often in the past.

Which is their choice then. As I've been able to do it with a number of players using said system it's not hard to do.

People coming and going into a unti is part of real life in the real military, peace time or war. Deal with it, and keep moving forward.
