The Optimisation is terrible, what I would suggest is trying to play on a lower resolution and lower the resolution scale
many can play verdun with good fps and well performance so hes not the only one
i play at 2560x1440 resolution and have atleast 150 fps on every map
Thos who played on Ultra lost nothing, those who played on low saw their FPS drop.
Maybe I should upgrade my PC to play this crap game, with ps3 graphics
Just use this launch option:

RE: Updates
There has been a few Unity Updates, (i.e. 5.6 -> 2017.1 -> 2017.3) and IIRC, they increased the terrain rendering on Low Terrain to help with shots/bullets being blocked by unrendered hilltops, earthworks, etc.
Have you tried what is talked about here (if you have both Tannenberg and Verdun) :

Although it seems to be an unpopular opinion, the updates does tend to improve the game visually and thus be more demanding on low performance machine. It seems normal that the impact are more felt on those.
You really need to play on all the parameters (drivers, resolution, background processes...) to improve perf. The bottleneck isn't necessarily the GPU.
