Verdun
Improving FPS?
Since Verdun's new engine upgrade, my fps has become more stable but the fps itself is very low to the point where I have to either play the game like a slideshow or like a very old game

I have a Intel Integrated Graphics Card which explains my terrible performance, but besides getting a new graphics card, are there any settings or launch options I can change to improve performance?

Hope the devs fix the performance, game boosters didn't work for me, the game is just badly optimised (friend of mine recently upgraded his PC and didn't get any more FPS)
The Optimisation is terrible, what I would suggest is trying to play on a lower resolution and lower the resolution scale

I agree, lowering your resolution and resolution scale has boosted by FPS a fair bit. It's not a great fix, but at least it gives me something more than a slideshow.

I have a budget card(1050 ti) and it runs incredibly well.. It seems very well optimised to me.. Maybe try verifying local files?

I think you must be the one of the only ones who have their game running well, what are your FPS ?

I play at 1600x900p, so you could prob take my results and minus 15% if you play 1080p. But I get 70-90fps on everything high with distance settings on ultra. SSAO and everything else switched on

many can play verdun with good fps and well performance so hes not the only one
i play at 2560x1440 resolution and have atleast 150 fps on every map

So there is no optimisation problem, the fact I used to run this game on low at 80 fps pre merge, 60 fps on low 50 resolution scale after merge, now 40-50 is all a myth

Thos who played on Ultra lost nothing, those who played on low saw their FPS drop.

Maybe I should upgrade my PC to play this crap game, with ps3 graphics

If you're experiencing decreases in performance over time, it might be that your pc needs cleaning.

So my PC just gets dirty at every Verdun update ?

I can play Verdun with good FPS and everything on Ultra...

Played a long time ago, got about 50-60fps on low, recently reinstalled and now getting 25fps max on low. idk what updates or whatever has taken place but this isnt good :(

People playing on low have just been loosing FPS over the updates, it seems like the devs just optimise for those who play on Ultra or Medium, don't hope to get them back

You could try running the game with OpenGL instead of DirectX. (If you're on Windows, ofc.)

Just use this launch option:
-force-glcore

RE: Updates
There has been a few Unity Updates, (i.e. 5.6 -> 2017.1 -> 2017.3) and IIRC, they increased the terrain rendering on Low Terrain to help with shots/bullets being blocked by unrendered hilltops, earthworks, etc.

Honestly having played before and after, nothing has changed, I would rather play on 80-70 FPS again, than a change that put me on 50 and didn't change anything

Have you tried what is talked about here (if you have both Tannenberg and Verdun) :

Although it seems to be an unpopular opinion, the updates does tend to improve the game visually and thus be more demanding on low performance machine. It seems normal that the impact are more felt on those.

You really need to play on all the parameters (drivers, resolution, background processes...) to improve perf. The bottleneck isn't necessarily the GPU.
