Verdun

Any chance Verdun creators will venture into WW2 next?
I know WWII has been done a lot, but I feel that the style of Verdun in a WWII setting would be amazing. I would love to see more work from the devs and feel that WWII would be an amazing next step, even just as an expansion. Village fights or the woods during the bulge would be incredible with Verduns gore and realistic damage and strategy

No

Verdun is a niche ww1 game and the devs won't think of making a new game anytime soon

I mean they took 7 years to make this game alone you know?

Are there not enough WWII games already? I mean, Day of Infamy was released just last year, and Days of War this year, and there's this Fog of War going through its early access... And this is just what was released recently, I don't even mention RO2/RS or the titles in development like Traction Wars or Batallion 1944.
Blackmill/M2H wouldn't handle the competition. Besides, why would they abandon a nice niche (WWI) that had them going for so long.

Would be a completely different game. If you want a realistic WW2 shooter go for RO series.

If the Devs were to make another game would make sense to be covering another section of WW1.

Agreed.
I would only be interested in a new WWII game if this one focuses on an unexploited front (Battle of France, Winter War...) otherwise no.

If the developers were to make another game, then it should be another game; not a cut-and-paste of Verdun. I mean, aren't they already working hard enough producing new content and frequently updating the game, fixing bugs of all shapes and sizes--and you want them to basically make the same game again?

"Would be a completely different game." That's the whole point of making a new game.
M2H has a few games

Blackmill has as far as I know no other games.

The other fronts would be different: new maps, nations and weapons. Possibly new game modes and thus gameplay.

If they are stuggling to make new content for this game then they'd have no chance at WW2 which wouldn't be similar to Verdun which makes it werid to have them make such a game if you like their previous work.

The Gallipoli Campaign would be an intersting add on to Verdun.

I'd personally like to see a new front explored than another WW2 game. No real reason to go from WW1 to WW2, when there's at least room for one more front to explore. I do not think they'd be able to cover all fronts, but nothing is impossible.

You're right that Verdun and say an Eastern or Italian Front wouldn't be -that- different, Kadesman.

Although, I think it'd still be neat to see similar love put into a different front as they've done for Verdun.

If that'd mean, it's another Verdun with different maps, slightly different weapons, etc. That's honestly fine by me, as I love/appreciate what they've done for the Western Front.

However I'm biased as I've always thought a WW1 shooter would be great.

Personally I'd love to see the Eastern Front more than anything else, a place that no FPS has ever really ventured into.

Although above all else, I want current Verdun to be the best it can absolutely be before anything else is done.

Newer game modes wouldn't make much of a difference when most of the focus is on Frontlines. As such, new maps, nations and weapons wouldn't make that much of a difference in terms of gameplay either.

Who's implying that we expect them to make a World War 2 game this instant? They're busy enough with Verdun. But in a few years when they become a bigger and more experienced team, they could venture into the World War 2 setting. And again, it shouldn't be that similar to Verdun. Depending upon what you mean by being similar to Verdun, it shouldn't be a copy of Verdun with a World War 2 skin. Maybe a slightly similar concept like being a multiplayer, team-based first person shooter with a slight focus on realism--but it shouldn't be a "WW2 Verdun" game.
Frontlines would be different for different fronts, which is in effect a different game mode. Then nor would WW2 and the Devs should call it quits on shooters and new content for Verdun.

If they stuggle now by you, then how can you expect them to do better later when they have no income from an active game? Taken 7 years to get Verdun, again if they are going to keep working on shooters more sense to work on WW1. When you factor in all the extra work from scratch that would be required it's going to be a long time that the answer is pretty much no.

If you read the OP he does say "the style of Verdun in a WWII" which doesn't really fit as the large difference will change the style of the game.
